Coffee Break Travels: in Piemonte with Francesca

In this Coffee Break Italian special, join Francesca and Mark as they travel to Francesca's village of Pettinengo in the Piemonte hills. The video features segments in Italian and English, and we've provided subtitles in both Italian and English for you. You'll meet Francesca's family - and her dog - and get to know the village where she grew up, and the town of Biella where she attended secondary school.

    Come irlandese che ha vissuto in Piemonte per quattro anni alla fine degli anni '90, ho adorato questo video. Vivo a Guadalajara in Messico adesso, e sto cercando di non perdere il mio italiano perché c'è così tanto spagnolo nella mia testa! Adoro anche il podcast! 👍🏼

    omg breath-takingly beautiful. Mi piace le montagne molto. I've been to Friuli regione..vicino Udine..in a small town called Maiano..where the old folks still speak some Friuliano. I love mountains. Such a gorgeous place

    Fantastic video. I’m a retired English teacher, now “la babysitter” for an Italian family in Varese - only an hour and a half from Pettinengo. I also have the family car at the weekends this year, and I hope to get to get up to that area at some point. I love Coffee Break Italian (and Mark, and Francesca!). Thanks for these wonderful Italian adventures (which I now understand almost completely!)

    Ciao! Francesca's father said that it's the oldest cedar tree in Italy, and when he was younger, he used to meet with his friends under that tree to have an afternoon snack with his friends. 😊
