Cody Rhodes: 3 days before AEW's first show, pyro, Double or Nothing, wins & losses record

Ойын-сауық

Cody Rhodes sits down with Chris Van Vliet in Miami, FL three days before Double or Nothing. Cody talks about a number of different topics including AEW being a 2-hour live show on TNT, unveiling AEW's World Championship at Double or Nothing, if they will have pyro, how wins and losses will be worked into their story lines, his thoughts on the 24/7 title, Dustin Rhodes' match at Double or Nothing possibly being his last and he even mentions Sasha Banks, CM Punk and Randy Orton.

Can WWE say the same about their shows selling because of the wrestlers? no not really they only sell tickets because of the brand name of WWE and the show itself especially Wrestlemania. But you know what pal you believe what you want all I know is I'm going to enjoy watching wrestling from a company that don't treat fans like idiots.

To hear Good Old JR Jim Ross on mainstream Telley ! You can probably see from my picture that I’m a Trent Seven Fan and was at progress SSS16 this year. I subscribe to the network but WWE has been sooo underwhelming this year so I really really hope AEW DON smashes it on Saturday ! I’ll be watching it for sure . Just to have an alternative is so good and makes the whole wrestling industry sit back and take notice. Also I’ve heard the main AEW tv show will be on itv2 ?? Not sure if that’s the case but if so that will be Huge. Let’s see what happens but I’m so optimistic for the future. It feels like WCW vs WWE all over again.

@@thehero4gd I stopped watching full time by the time of the Benoit incident come 2007, but had been a fan from 1996 onwards, to see what the WWE has become now when I see glimpses of it gives me sadness and comedy, comedy in the sense of how laughably atrocious it is and sad in that I know they can do better and have been with them through some of the best years. That's the first I've heard of ITV2 airing the weekly AEW TNT show but if they were that would be massive. Are you old enough to remember the WWF on Channel 4 on Sundays and WCW being shown on Channel 5 Friday nights? Those the were the days, and though I'm not necessarily looking for an 'Attitude Era V2' this interview has me hopeful on just some small aspects of what I personally appreciate in a good wrestling show- opening pyro, eye catching sets, LONG term character/story building, rivalries that intercross one another, great commentary/announcing and most important of all, the general premise of WRESTLING rather than a wannabe hollywood project WWE seem to have going on the last few years. I don't care what anyone says, sleaze, blood, vulgarity, none PC themes can all be done correctly as long as it all relates back to wrestling. The Vince/Trish affair from late 2000- April 2001 was over the top, crude and 'degrading' and Linda being 'sedated' would be frowned upon now, but it all made sense wrestling wise come WrestleMania X-Seven when Foley got vengeance on Vince, as did Shane, Trish and Linda and it came time for the big payoff after 4 months of Vince's midlife crisis. I hope to see something funny, exciting and gripping like that again personally.
