CODE ENFORCEMENT called me to HELP this young WIDOW recover her YARD!

Ойын-сауық

I recently got a call from a local code enforcement officer to ask if I could help this nice lady out. He warned me that this was probably one of the most overgrown yards we’ve seen and he was right! After speaking with her on the phone I found out that her husband had recently passed away and she was left with this massive task and the yard was full of debris. She also said she had attempted to pay someone else to do it and they skipped out on her so we were more than happy to step in and help! This job took multiple days and I was running solo on the first day so you will see the boys join me for day 2 and 3. The homeowner is actually currently out of town for work but we managed to get all of the before and after photos sent to her so she could see the final look! She was too excited and thankful so be sure to stick around to the end to hear her reaction. Thanks so much for watching!

As someone who was widowed at 41 yrs old, with 5 children, I can't tell you how much the help friends and my father did with our home and yard helped. In my case my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer just 4 weeks after my husband's sudden death. I was a zombie with grief and shock and never felt so overwhelmed in my life. Widows are often forgotten, so I can't stress how good it makes me feel to see widows getting help.

On the one hand I agree with you that there’s a lack of community in general. On the other hand, the state of the house makes me believe there was some mental issues. Although her husband passed away 9 months ago, the house looks like it’s been falling apart for many years. I can’t help but think the couple may be depressed. Husband was a hoarder too. Even if neighbor was helpful and checked in, ultimately it wouldn’t have made much of an impact. What she needs is professional help. House looks so neglected it may not be safe to live there.

If there are other free services it would be a good idea to create a business card with contact numbers and service offered. There are many widows/elderly/people out there who are just hanging on, they could use a helping hand. Create a helping hand volunteer program, people need a helping hand these days and they're praying for people like you to show up. What a relief it must have been for the widowed woman (and the city, and her neighborhood) to have the Blessing Boys tackle her lawn. Sounds as though she's already been contacted by the city about the condition of her yard. Just hope she can find someone to help her maintain the work they've done, because it won't take long for invasive vines, other growth, to take over again.

Yes, excellent comment as that is unfortunately true. Ignorant people jump to make assumptions and to create their own narratives with no information, and we sadly see how much ignorance there is in this world just by seeing internet comments. You would think those people would have the intelligence to recognize that in their behavior and become better people.
