Thanks, glad you like it. I thought it came out a bit flat-sounding, myself. Still fun to give it a shot, though, even with my extreme technical limitations.

This made me do a Cocteau Karaoke...nice work.

Liz, Simon and Robin should seriously be subscribers....there is no one else on the planet doing these covers in such a focused and faithful way...

Do you have any recommendations for a drum machine to recreate the reverb drum sounds found on the Cocteau Twins albums? I’m basically trying to do what you’re doing here.. I don’t want to run it through a computer.. I want to just come up with a drum part, and noodle my guitar on top. Or play Cocteau twins songs. I’m dying to explore Robin’s work and get inspiration. Thank you for any help.

Thanks! Sure, at the bridge I'm playing (top four strings): ---0----0-----0-----0--- ---0---12----0----10-- --11--13---13---11-- --12--14---14---12-- (repeated, and then repeating the last chord before going back into the chorus)

Thanks! I just use some of the built-in effects that come with Reaper, the DAW I use. Mainly chorus, delay, and reverb.

Just the simple effects built into the Digital Audio Workstation I use, Reaper. Mainly chorus, delay, and reverb. Thanks!

I have those pedal effects and never got them remotely close to sound like this. I've tried. ehx grand canyon, tc electronics corona chorus and mxr reverb. Never heard of Reaper, I'll look into it. @@micahnewman

@@mheberling5939 Really? That surprises me; I always figured the effects in Reaper were pretty basic. But then I don't know gear from squat. In one of these videos someone commented recommending pedals.

What I'm playing in the video is: (top 3 strings) ---9-----7-----5-- --10----9-----7-- --11----9-----7-- But you can also play it like: (top 4 strings) ---9----0----0---- --10--12---10-- --11--13---11-- --------14---12-- Which sounds a bit fuller.

I played it differently in the bass video I did for it years back, based on the album version. Here I was trying to emulate what I hear in the Black Sessions version, which might be different.

Isn’t the first chord progression A to E to D ?

Yes, that's what I'm playing. It's: --0-- --0-- --0-- --5-- -12- -10- --6-- -13- -11- --7-- -14- -12- (top four strings) Although with the open E string left ringing, the last chord is technically Dadd9.

Which pickup do you have selected?

Probably the one nearest the neck, for the main part. It gives the most spacious sound.

@@micahnewman Yeah I was thinking with an hss strat, humbuckers are typically more for hard rock or metal and single coils are usually more used in shoegaze and dream pop so it makes sense if you were using the neck, although it depends. Nice playing, btw
