This is great. And it shows clearly how little space the Coconuts had available to them, in live situations. Literally standing room only. And they still made space for each other. That's show business!

So true ...more than many people realise, but boy does their unique choreo suit the ladies and fits in perfect with the style of music they dance/act out to..if Adriana wouldnt have been there, it would have been a comletley different style of dancing....then it wouldnt have been the coconuts as we know them now..

@@RetroReminiscing - I watched a more recent performance of the current Coconuts line-up last week, and while I don't mean to put them down and am sure they too have been putting a lot of work into it, their dance style was indeed different and not as entertaining to me as _these_ three ladies' 🙂

Thank you for letting me into this world. I hope all of these musicians and singers got paid equal amounts for this rehearsal time. $$$ To my knowledge, Darnell paid well.

I would imagine that the question must have ben asked many times over the years however! EDIT ... OK, I have just checked more specifically on Google and found this - Kid Creole And The Coconuts', "Annie, I'm Not Your Daddy" The Misheard Lyrics: o-no, o-no, onomatopoeia The Real Lyrics: I don't, I don't, I don't want to be your (x8) So what we need now is for Adriana, Taryn, Cheryl or (obviously) August, etc to notice this thread and give us the definitive answer on the matter :)

@@TheCocontusOfficial It's soooooo impressive to remember each and every dance move and the sing at the same time. Yeah, Kid Creole and the coconuts are a gerne on it's own because there's no competition that even comes close to them. Well maybe Gloria Estafan, but that's it imo.

it took a total of 3weeks to rehearse with the band, prior to that, the Coconuts rehearsed by themselves to recorded songs in front of mirrors and always on film, as film does not lie. Adriana did all the choreography and was a Swiss perfectionist, wanting the 3 girls to move in sync.

Relentless rehearsals, with camera, to make sure we were all in sync at all times, took about 3 weeks of 12/hr per day rehearsal for a 2hr show. Plus the creation of the choreography first.
