You are such a lovely reactor!!! Watching you was a pleasure. No one seems to get as emotional as I when Hector and Imelda extend the petal to Miguel and say "no conditions", you are the first one I have seen react as I have been reacting to that part for years, and I love that ❤ Keep the good work

I´m Mexican and I put my altar and "ofrendas" every year on the Day of the Dead but after I watched Coco I never leave anyone behind 🥺🥺🥺 I used to put only my dad and my mother put their grandparents and parents but now I put uncles, aunts, cousins, and all of them!! 🤗 I do believe they come and visit us on this day. It´s a beautiful tradition and as weird as it sounds it´s a celebration, not a sad day. We remember the things they used to like and funny anecdotes, how much we love them, and all the things they taught us. I loved your reaction to Coco, you seem like a sweet lady. God bless you!! 🥰😚

In Ecuador people (mostly elders) put a very simple altar (photo and candle) in the Day of the Dead. People go to the cemeteries to clean the tomb and spend some time. I always went with my mom to what she called "the cemeteries tour" and was nice to watch all the people bringing speakers and radios to play the favourite music of their loved ones, even some bring mariachis, mostly to mom's graves (Yes, Amor Eterno is a must) We have also a specific traditional dish "a colada morada" and a "guagua de pan" that all loved. But, how the day is lived in Mexico is sooooo incredible, so many symbols, so many diverse activities.

Aww It was such a touching story! 🥲
Ernesto can't die in the Land of the Dead, because so many people remember him. Suffice to say, he will be remembered for a very, VERY long time. And spend the rest of his afterlife being shamed by everyone he meets.
@trudim6024

But nobody in the land of the living would put his picture up any more presumably. So I guess he wouldn't have very long left in the afterlife.

You only need a picture to cross the bridge, but if you want to stay in the land of the dead you simply need to be remembered. He'd probably stay in the land of the dead forever @@trudim6024
Fun Fact: The woman who inspired Mama Coco was from Michoacan. She passed away last year at the age of 109 and her name was María Salud Ramírez. Google it.
At the time I saw this movie, it was in theaters with my siblings per our tradition that as we got older and could drive ourselves to the movies, we'd go every year to see whatever Pixar came out with. I wasn't expecting this to be such an emotional hit. Just that year, my grandmother had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and the final scene pretty much broke me while I was there. Easily one of my favorites from Pixar.

That's so sad, this movie made me cry so much and I've only experienced a little bit of a family member having Alzheimer's. It's too sad but this movie & it celebrating life it's a reminder to keep them in your hearts always!
That movie has ripped my heart apart, it's been a massive emotional roller coaster for me! A true masterpiece that will never be repeated again. A true gem this movie is !!
I shed a tear when I saw Hector wearing shoes Rivera's are shoemakers and he's finally got his place in the family and his shoes.
A Fun Fact: Hector is always barefoot in the Land of the Dead, until after his reconciliation with the family, who make him a pair, welcoming him back into the family with their trade of shoemaking.
If you watched this movie without tears, you're not human. This movie came out during a really bad time in my life as my great grandmother was unfortunately lying on her deathbed. I spoke with her while she was still somewhat cohessive and she told me she wanted to watch it with me. But once we finally got the chance she was unfortunately mentally distant from everyone, not remembering us, and at times hallucinating. I couldnt even watch the film until years after her passing. So on top of it hitting close to home, it hits an even more sensitve emotion just due to my experience getting to see it the first time.

Thank you for sharing. It was a very special, touching story; I love this tradition. 🤗
to me it shows a lot of detail in emotional nuance of how generational trauma is very impactful, that imelda does not forgive hector immediately once hearing that he was poisoned while trying to come back to her, because she does have a valid point. he still left her in the first place, even if he ended up regretting it. for her, she lived her entire life feeling that he'd left her and their daughter without a care in the world, and even believed it long after she died. I think its very realistic that it would take time to process that the way she's been feeling up until now, while understandable, is no longer serving her in the new but current reality where she has a chance to really get his side of what went down and maybe release these feelings of resentment she's rightfully had for decades. most people would still have emotional processing to do, and questions they've likely had for a long time they'd want answered before truly forgiving him.
I'm so glad I ran into your channel! This was a great reaction! As a Mexican guy, this movie represents my culture in such a real and beautiful way, no matter how many times I see it, it always makes me tear up lol such a great movie

12:00 “El Santo” (aka The Silver Masked) was one of the most famous Mexican wrestlers of all time. His wrestling career spanned nearly five decades, and he is also known for starring in films and a comic-books series that ran for more than 30 years. Lovely reaction

Totally! I put on Maureen's videos whenever I want to feel relaxed 💞
My favorite animated movie. I've watched it so many times. It's so emotional but at least in a satisfying way at the end. I usually start crying around Miguel being thrown into the sinkhole and I don't stop crying much until it's over. Even at small parts. The part that gets me the absolute MOST is the end when Miguel is singing and it shows skeleton Mama Coco with her arm around her living daughter, leaning her head on Elena's shoulder. The way Elena treats Mama Coco throughout the movie, shows how much she really adores her mother. The very few scenes that those 2 have together makes me miss my own mom. She was my best friend. As tough as abuelita is for her family, I adore the way she treats her mom. I bet they were best friends also.
It is a pleasure and a pain at the same time watching this movie. My great grandma passed away two months after this movie came out, and this movie reminds me about her all the time. As a Latino, I must said this movie encapsulated very well our family and relatives relationships.
I'm from México, and in my family we do believe our relatives come for one day. Actually if you try the food after the día de muertos there's no flavor on it! Also, last year we put my grandpa's favorite tequila and it almost consume all of it! We might know it's something that happens naturally but we prefer to believe they come to visit us for just one day, this movie it was so accurate and I think all Mexicans cry even more than others countries because we all know that day is really important specially if you already lost someone you loved. This is the first video I watch of you, you have a new subscriber!
If you notice throughout the entire movie Hector didn’t have any shoes… the Rivera family was known for making shoes…by the end of the movie when he is accepted back into the family he has shoes❤️
This is such a beautiful film. I cried so much the first time I saw it.
I think it was a Disney comic or short book about Coco that said she didn't approve of her mother, Imelda's, ban on music. She secretly loved music just like her father did. She even danced and snuck out to hear the plaza musicians. After she married and had children Coco suffered an injury while dancing and she saw how worried her daughters were for her. After that she stopped and didn't say anything about the music ban of her mother and children.
You are the most genuine sweetheart reactor I've ever seen, omg...instant sub!

I watched this movie in theaters while on a first date… GREAT movie, HORRIBLE first date idea 😂😂
Wow! What a beautiful and heartfelt reaction to this movie that so touchingly brings to the world á tradition that predates Columbus and that illustrates the importance of family and the ties we have to each other and to our dear departed ones! The tears that you felt were from your heart and you really understood this “ Dia de Muertos “. I too she’d a few tears! Gracias and Remember Me!
I'm pretty sure that Ernesto, and everyone around him, was surprised by Miguel's announcement that he was the musician's great-great grandson, because DelaCruz only cared about himself, and never even had a wife, so descendants were impossible.
I’m so happy you enjoyed this movie, Latin culture holds family very tightly. That also comes with the pain of loosing more people. But those who are remembered never die
Ernesto De La Cruz sang Remember Me fast paced, he didn't know the true meaning as deep as Hector which he sang with his heart and slow for his daughter Coco

"dia de muertos" is by far the best tradition from Mexico. The way we celebrate through life and after.
Ernesto De La Cruz is very similar to Pedro Infante (famous Mexican actor)

It seems like a really magical moment at the end, where Coco has this moment of lucidity and is able to recall details that - for all intents and purposes - should have been damaged beyond recovery. And yet. The brain is an amazing organ. There's nothing magical about what you saw; it might have been played up a bit - a little exaggerated, as Hollywood is wont to do - but the location where your brain stores emotions is not the same place where it stores details. This matters, because neurological diseases tend to attack the latter before the former; in other words, if you can trigger an emotion, you can pull out memories associated with that emotion. I'm not even joking. Here's one man recalling his love of Cab Calloway: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mK2Os8hpoJqZgbA.html And here's a former ballerina hearing Swan Lake: kzread.info/dash/bejne/e4iT1rlsdbmqe5s.html And this doesn't even take into account the research and animation techniques the Pixar team brought to this film. It is an amazing journey just on the surface, and it only gets richer the more you dig.

I’m glad you mentioned this. I studied music theory in college and I always love how music and smell elicit lucid memories even among severe dementia and Alzheimer’s patients. It’s almost miraculous.

Such a lovely soul you have. Love this movie and your reaction 😊
This was so pure. Thank you.
Even if Ernesto gave Miguel his blessing, it wouldn’t have worked cuz they’re not family. He was willing to do it (before Miguel found out his secret) cuz they both thought they were related. Someone pointed out when Imelda is giving Miguel her blessing, the petal lit up, meaning the magic was working. But when Ernesto gives Miguel his blessing, the petal doesn’t light up. If he hadn’t been interrupted, they would’ve realized that they weren’t related because it wouldn’t have worked
I love your reactions. Also, at the end, Hector finally had shoes.

For those who wonder, Coco is a short name for "Refugio"; if is a woman (like grandma Coco) her full name is "Maria del Socorro" and if is a man the short is "Cuco" and his name is "José del Refugio" (like the singer/composer Cuco Sanchez).
