The guy's emergency shoot opened, that' slowed his momentum just enough to keep him from becoming paste when he hit the ground.
Margo Martindale's ambulance gurney death had me cringing and giggling at the same time...
This had no business being as good as it was. Such likable characters. It had me at “Source: Wikipedia.”
A kid in the 80s not knowing how to do coke is probably the most unrealistic part of the movie.

You think so? Anti-drug education back then wasn't like how sex ed is now - they did not, for example, do the equivalent of having kids put condoms on bananas. I grew up in middle class suburb of a medium-sized city in "flyover country," and I didn't know wat cocaine was until DARE (the anti-drug program used in schools) informed me of it. Moreover, drug "culture" had not yet become a part of the general pubic consciousness yet. Gangsta rap wasn't yet created. "Scarface" only came out in 1983, and I suspect that parents were more ratings-conscious back then (otherwise, PG-13 would not have had to been invented and the "Satanic Panic" wouldn't have happened). "Lethal Weapon," in which Mel Gibson's character snorts a line during a controlled purchase, would only come out in 1987. "Tequila Sunrise," in which Mel Gibson plays a drug dealer trying to retire didn't come out until 1988, and that film never depicted anyone taking drugs. "New Jack City" (which deals with crack in an inner-city housing project, and in no way romanticizes drug use - there was even a lame PSA at the end) wouldn't come out until 1991. The portrayal of the mechanics of drug use in "Pulp Fiction" was shocking when it came out in 1994. It seems to me that for kids during the mid-80's whose parents did not do drugs and who did not grow up in the inner city (such as middle-class white kids growing up in a college town in the South), the manner in which cocaine is commonly ingested would not have been common knowledge. What *is* unrealistic is how the kids were talking normally after putting the cocaine in their mouths. Cocaine is a non-epidermal local anesthetic; when one sees a cop in a movie put a bit of white powder on his tongue, it isn't to check the flavor - it is to see if there is a numbing effect (which is why it is Schedule II - dentists used to use it to numb the teeth and gums before Novocain became more common). Putting the amount of cocaine in one's mouth that the kids did in the movie would definitely affect speech for a good couple of hours at least.

@@hanng1242 well I was 13 when I walked in on adrug deal at school. (The football team buying steroids) One of my friends was on Coke by around that age as well. Dare was pretty silly. We used to make fun of how much they got wrong. Drugs and alcohol were pretty common and common knowledge when I grew up. And I didn't grow up in some inner city. I grew up in a farming community in the bible belt.
This movie was way funnier, better written, and with better actors then it really should have had.

The real cocaine bear had about 75 POUNDS of it in its stomach, worth about $14m back in the 80s. It made up a quarter of the bear's weight.

It also only made it about a hundred yards after consumption before it died within minutes of collapsing.

I LOVED the part of the movie where the Female Park Ranger, who had already survived a couple of bear attacks, is strapped to a gurney in the back of the ambulance. And as it takes off, she flies out the back of the ambulance with her arms pinned down and is DRAGGED on the pavement to her death.

I loved that part too, I was wheezing, lol.
So glad I brought this from my local supermarket if for no other reason I now have a receipt that says cocaine on it.
As a citizen of Knoxville, I can say that yes a bear ate 75 lbs of cocaine and then died of overdose after a minute. The story can be found in the records buildings of Oliver Springs and Oak Ridge as well, Still even without the movie this is hilarious. The last minute of that bears life must have been wild!
"Very loosely tangentially based on some stuff that happened" might be closer than "Based on true events". The real-life cocaine bear ripped open a key, ate some Columbian Fun Powder, and dropped dead within a few feet.

You know the movie was based on a true story The Bear actually eating cocaine right
The real truth is a bear found coke ate some and died.
The 80s was such a great decade. I was 8-17. Began with The Empire Strikes Back, ended with Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. And a whole lot of awesomeness in between.
This movie was so stupid and hilarious. Love this movie. I love hiking. Just relaxing, taking a break from the internet and my mind just goes blank and let’s me actually think.
I loved this movie. Also, I just realised that at 4:28 the actress playing Elsa calls "Olaf" by his real name "Kristopher" ... 😆
In the true story the bear just got super high for a couple of minutes then ODs… Mr ballen told the story I believe.
Rest in peace Ray Liotta this was his last movie
This movie was kind of a phenomenon. B-movie plot with A-list level talent and a wide release. I believe it did pretty well for its budget too. Best kills were definitely the ambulance chase and aftermath though the bear doing a line off of dude's leg is a close second.
There’s actually another final Ray Liotta film called Fool’s Paradise and I think there’s 2 or 3 upcoming posthumous films with Liotta.
Yeah...I'm gonna tell people Big Jim Keene on Black Bird was Ray Liotta's last role.
I forgot if it was a post credit scene or a deleted scene, but the road-rash ranger somehow survives.
Had to hop on for this. I loved this movie. It’s like, Oh Hell No! 😂 The airplane guy, park ranger and the mom were all stars from “The Americans,” a really cool TV show I’d love for you to watch. I love Henry. Ray Liotta’s guts getting pulled out was pretty bad. Y’all missed the two end credit scenes.

They didn't necessarily miss it. They edit out a lot of stuff.
I told people that if the title is something you think would be fun to watch you will love it.
Cocaine bear is a really fun flick, definitely a beer and pizza kinda movie, not meant to be taken seriously just a fun Friday night B movie loved it when i bought the blu ray a few months ago. Great reaction guys Also if Elizabeth Banks decides to make a sequel I'd definitely watch. 😁🤟👍
everyone misses the extra scenes after it ends.
Y'all didn't do either post-credit scene?!?!?
I recently had my sister and niece come over to watch a double feature of this movie and Grizzly from 1977….it was awesome 😂
Not for nothing but…I’ve never met a bear that could do coke well…
There's a Documentary on Peacock about the Cocaine Bear and the pilot at the beginning of the movie. It shows everyone who was involved with the "case". From the home owner who found the pilot in his front yard to the park ranger who found the Bear with a bag of cocaine. They interview the agents and officers who were after the pilot and the first to arrived at the scene. They talk about the pilot how crazy the guy was. Hell they even mentioned Woody Harrelson's father and how he was involved. It's crazy how this shit happened in real life. I recommend you guys to watch it.
Don’t run from bears, because, they’ll think your prey, and their wild-hunting instincts will turn on. And, when the man at the start said, “If it’s black, fight back. If it’s brown, lay down”, he meant that you have to play dead whenever you encounter a grizzly bear/European brown bear (it’s the same species, really). If it does happen, fall on your stomach, protect your neck with your arms, spread your legs apart (optional), and wait for it to move away a good distance. Get up too early, and it’s coming back. In this case, start fighting back with rocks, branches, anything. Though, before any of that can happen, make as much noise as possible, so the bears (black or brown) won’t come at you menacingly.
My favorite line was the cubs were covered in some much cocaine from playing with that the mom says "they look like polar bears" so good
Surprisingly I enjoyed this movie. Sometimes you read a title and you think to yourself, "My God the title is stupid",but it was fun to watch. I can't believe this was Ray Liotta's last LOL. The guy went from Goodfellas to Cocaine Bear LOL, which is probably the animal that Henry Hill would have been. 😂
This movie was so effing hilarious way funnier than I thought it was going to be thought I was going to be kind of corny but it was actually good
I remember a guy at my theater asked if we were selling anything to promote this movie and I jokingly told him that we're not giving out little baggies of cocaine.
I found this movie bloody, gory and lacking taste. You will love it ❤
34:28 SAY hello to my little cubs! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 GREAT REACTION GUYS. 👍
If you're doing comedy movies I highly recommend the nice guys. With Ryan gosling and Russell Crowe
you both being off during the intro was so funny XD
One of the rare times wikipedia is right. You should fight back but preferably you can scare it off before it gets close by making yourself look big. But unless you can sound scarier than it can you actually shouldn't growl like some people believe. You don't want to let it know it's deadlier than you because as soon as you become anything less you could be seen as food.
3:45 the Rizz of a man married amen
I'd love to have been a fly on the wall at the pitch meeting where they got the money to make this. 😁 I never thought "Snakes On A Plane" could be topped. I was wrong. 😏
My boy sweettooth went from the sweets to the streets 😅 hopefully big man can find them
Saw it in the theater on opening weekend with a pretty good crowd. Hilariously weird. Margo Martindale's death is the best. And I love Ice Chip.
19:02 I got that reference lol, Classic
my dad had that car that pulled up outside of the us forest Service building it was an AMC Pacer but it was red. Also, a little-known fact was that the passenger door was 4 inches bigger than the driver's. So getting in the back seat on the passenger side was easier.
Watching the paramedic thinking 'where have I seen him before'...later realizing he's the IKEA guy
I eagerly await the sequel - cocaine bear 2: coked up cubs
Now ya gotta watch The Wolf of Snow Hollow. Its like The Office and Fargo had a werewolf movie baby.
The tagline for this movie should have been 'All Sorts of Pain!'. :0)
Waiting for the sequel that will take place in Florida.... Meth Gator
In the true story. The bear simply did die. The first person to see him was looking at a dead bear. That wouldn't be much of a movie.
RIP Ray Liotta, this was his last project
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this movie
I thought it was a joke when they announced this movie then i come to realize it was happening Great movie i enjoyed it
This Movie Is Hilarious ( I Have A Dark Sense Of Humor!)😭😱🤔🙆♀️🤣🥰🐻🎛🖥💙
Omg the rangers ginger bf is actually mitch from modern family, great cast so far and I'm only a quarter way through it
Funny I've seen bears in my front yard. One has marked its territory in the woods around my home. Stupid neighbors keep dumping their trash in the woods. I walked out into the bear once. The dumb thought that came out of my mouth was, oh hell bear.
The sequel should be cocaine bear 2: attack of the cocaine cubs 😂
This is one of those movies like Teeth and the remake of It's Alive....so ridiculous and out there that you HAVE to watch it!
The planned sequel is actually "Meth Squirrels" :P

I wish the true story was this amazing!
I absolutely love this movie... however this is the loosest version of "based on a true story" I have ever seen - which makes it even better. Greatest "what if" scenario EVER
Saying this based on a true story, is like saying that superman is based on a true story, because meteorties have actually landed in corn fields. Yes, a bear once ate some cocaine. It promptly died. It's story ended right on the spot. Just like the meteorites' did when they didn't open up and turn out to be mini space-ships with alien babies inside.
The REAL cocaine bear is here in Kentucky.
I remember when they came out with a movie called "Snakes on Planes" and I thought, what could this really be about. Couldn't be about actual snakes loose on an actual plane. Surely Cocaine Bear can't possible be about a bear that like to snort coke?

say no to drugs..but say yes..to bears :)
I actually live just around the way from where the man's body was found. I still can't believe knoxville is known well for that and the world's fair park sunsphere(mentioned in the Simpsons.) Ha
This movie was really fun. I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did. Good choice and good channel guys
Movie critics said something great about this movie, there's a bear, there's cocain, that's it, a great movie, no rewatch to understand, no after credits scene, nothing to understand just to enjoy.
Camped on blood mountain bout a year ago, didnt see any bears or cocaine, some of the scenic views from this movie are legit tho
The drug dealer in the plane in real life was a Vietnam War veteran who joined the local police working in the drug suppression unit. He found out he could make more money selling drugs.
One of my fave creature features.
The female cop played the neighbor in Meagan!
This movie has me cracking up at the most inappropriate things. I am going to hell...
I would have liked the movie a lot more had the bear been a practice puppet, but my guess is that would have been too expensive.

Its funny how the kid does "cocaine" after school and doesnt realize that hes doing sugar before he gets lost
Hey Mrs. Movies! Can't you get Lip Stain if Lip Stick is too much?
The true story this is based on is drug dealers lost coke, bear found coke, bear did coke, bear's heart blew out.
Not so muich a sequel but at least in the same genre, Meth Gator.
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe.😊
