Cobra is the military arm of a massive corporation called Extensive Enterprises, and their first episodes had them trying to eradicate both the Soviets and the Yanks. That's as anti-government, libertarian, free-market as you can get. Hell, their elite Crimson Guard squads are staffed by doctors, lawyers, business owners, executives, successful people from every corner of society. Cobra, in the end, is a corporation, their upper crust is staffed by successful entrepreneurs, and their whole shtick is trying to eradicate the government that taxes businesses and tries to regulate them. Cobra is as libertarian, free-market capitalist to the bone. To the point where not only was their first major strike against the Soviet Union, but they want to get rid of governments overall.

If the farmer just gave everything he laboured to create to others for nothing in return, would he not be a slave? Why should the Farmer slave away for everyone else? Nobody will work for nothing.(unless we're talking charity workers or something) It's naive to just dismiss the economy as useless. The people who do this don't know the first thing about it. While I see the necessity of an economy, I do acknowledge it's weaknesses. For example, Science and Technological progress as well as civic advancement is slowed by the presence of an economy bottlenecking the resources needed to make such progress and advancement. We'd be building things on the Moon by now if an economy didn't tell us that space travel was expensive. Not to mention corporations and persons of self-interest are stimying progress as well. For example, we are still using dwindling fossil fuels because there are markets for it, markets which don't want to give up their income to make something better. Best case scenario is one-world currency. Multiple currencies is one of the worst things ever. The only thing better is no money needed at all for essentials like food and water, but that would require magic or Star Trek replication technology, as that's the only way we can get what we need to survive without making other Humans labor for other Humans.

Keynesian economics generally sees fiscal policy (taxes, government spending...) as the primary lever with which to affect the economy. The Fed is associated with monetary policy.
