Cobi casually making more accurate sets than lego

This model is superior to the previous version! And thanks to Cobi for putting the dihedral angle in the wings, something I've asked them to do for a couple of years. I just wish they made a clear insert piece for the cockpit glass. Has anyone made a 3D printed insert piece to place glass in the windows of Cobi's cockpit piece yet? I suppose you could easily make your own by cutting them out of clear plastic. excellent review BrickMeet!

Will definitely pick up the new G version which was the older version you compared with hence the small differences for example the nose. Will also paint the propellers yellow, why COBI didn't do that I do not know

B 17 looking good, near studless, and decked out in prints for authentic detail. Stability also very good considering the thickness of both wings and how they're near tiled over. Camo tiling also works without being to much or little. Interesting fact that it can crew 10 yet the model unfortunately can crew only one. Expected for the scale. Would be really cool to scale a larger plane similar to recent tank models with full interior and engine detail.

The new stand is definitely a great plus

I don’t own a single cobi but am scared to get one because I know I’ll get addicted and want them all. The il2 and Stuka in particular look really good

Die neue Flying Fortress macht schon echt was her. Hier lohnt sich der Aufpreis zur Executive Edition, da man hier von den Farben ein stimmigeres Gesamtbild bekommt und noch dazu den Aufsteller um das Flugzeug würdig zu präsentieren. Ich finde das durchsitige Teil an der Nase wo die MGs angedeutet sind, irgendwie unglücklich und wirkt irgendwie nicht stimmig. Aber da die Vorgängerversion dieses Bauteil auch schon an der Nase hatte, scheint das ja historisch korrekt zu sein. Habe mal Recherchiert: Dieses durchsichtige Teil macht tatsächlich Sinn, da die B-17 da einen Platz für einen Soldaten bereit hielt(so scheint es auf den Bildern)der die MGs abgefeurt hat. Von Cobi habe ich bisher die aktuelle Yamato(ohne Executive und die aktuelle Hood, ebenfalls ohne Executive) da ist mir schon Positiv Aufgefallen, dass Cobi sich wirklich mit den Vorlagen auseinander setzt.

More new cobi news. New stuka, puma and stummel (1/35) maybe a 2-1. Plus a few others all for october. Looks amazing only reason i not got planes, is no room. i struggling to find a place for the 1/12 tiger when it comes out.

10:57 : Those visible studs are unfortunate, but I understand why they did it. I've seen the actual Belle several times (and she's a beauty), and those side gunner ports would be way too small if a flat-top 1x3 was put on top of the studs ; equally, having watched the build, attempting to replace the 1x5 with either a flat top or a 1x2 and a flat top 1x3 would make that area really unsound structurally speaking. I'd call it a smart compromise, although you could probably try and get around the issue with a 1x1 normal and a 1x4 flat top plate in place of the 1x5 ... although that might be a failure point due to how the lower fuselage curve is done there.

The B-17 they used in the movie was Sally B which lives at Duxford museum in England. It still flys around alot. When I worked there I went on a tour of the plane, in a hanger. The tunnel going to the rear gun was Tiny, walking across the bomb bay was scary 'cos the doors were open and the view from the bomb aimer was terrific. There was a little kid looking up as I was looking down so I waved at him. He was a LONG way down! The crew told me when they were filming, the engine sound was unbelievable at full power and when they fired the guns (with blanks) it felt like the whole plane was gonna rattle itself to bits.

Definitely captures the look of the B17 although disappointing that model-specific mouldings had to be used for a huge part of the nose assembly and horizontal stabiliser; kind of feels like cheating.

yeah, i build both Cobi and Model kits, the only reason i get Cobi over model kits is for the building experience

On the B17 the gear could no retract fully so if it was damaged and it would not lower you could still land

A funker is another name for radio operator with a gun pointing straight up to where the flight engineer aka the top turret can’t point at

In der Kürze liegt die Würze, heißt es doch so schön 😉 Hat aber auch seine Nachteile. Meine Watchtime ist dadurch deutlich geringer und das straft KZread regelmäßig mit weniger Empfehlungen ab. Meine letzten Videos waren alle etwas kürzer und prompt meckert KZread Im Studio, dass meine Videos weniger geschaut werden und daher vielleicht nicht so interessant sind. Dadurch werden sie natürlich kaum noch empfohlen. Das ist echt nervig. Ein 8 Minuten Video kann nun mal keine 20 Minuten Watchtime haben.

@@BrickMeet Ich kann mir sehr gut vorstellen das es in der heutigen "gesunden" Zeit nicht einfach ist auf einen guten Zweig mit diverser Platform zu kommen. Ich wünsche dir und deinem Kanal dennoch nur das Beste ( Einige Sets waren mir erst nach einem Video von dir bekannt 👍🏻😁) Nicht aufgeben 💪🏻
