Coastal Grandmother Interior Design Style!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This style started on TIC TOK! and it is increasing in popularity! Coastal Grandmother Style is worth talking about... I love the relaxed vibe of this look. Interior Design has so many different takes on similar styles... which is why I love talking about them all.
Enjoy!

I thought Costal Granny was mostly about the clothing. Somewhere I heard they call themselves Costal Granddaughters now(not sure if all of them do). This interior design style is basically Shabby Chic on the beach. I like this.

You nailed this one. I like that you cautioned not to take the style too literally. I am guessing that you might mean an interior that facilitates living a coastal lifestyle rather than placing objects that refer to coastal living (i.e. not filled with fake paddles, plastic seashells, etc.). I would like to add some i sights about the lifestyle. So, flooring and fabrics are very casual, easy to maintain and not too precious when the grandkids come in with wet bathingsuits and sand between their toes. Actual shell and beach glass collections, buy nothing purchased. Easy access to outdoor living, especially for eating, reading, relaxing outdoors day and night. Lots of open windows and doors. Paperback beach books at your fingertips. Magazines. Lots of nice looking concealed storage to stash games, toys, wine bottles, extra bags of chips for the kids. Bowls of fresh fruit. (Good call on fresh flowers.) Water pitchers. Barefoot friendly floors and acrylic drinking glasses. Everything washable and sunscreen resistant. Washable throws,, extra jackets.. Could be outdoor furniture or fabrics used indoors. Some regional differences, especially architectural and color palates, between Nantucket, Florida Keys, California and Columbia River/Gorge (Oregon). Could also be influenced by Mexican Coastal. I see it as driven by relaxed and easy going lifestyle, easy maintenance and with a close connection with outdoor activities and nature. I have been living on a beach for 36 years and I would not want my home any other way, sand, kayak paddles and all. I think it's really fun to see people talking about this lifestyle as a design style. 😎

Hello, nice to see you again! Plz upload more videos more often. I enjoy your videos ,they are really informative, I'm just interested in interior design and recently I have a plan to change my apartment and I know that I have a specific taste for ID but can't define it as a specific category. Your explanation helps me to define it a little bit more clear at least for myself !!!😋😎thanks. 🥰

I love dark and moody furniture but also have china plates and crystal chandelier moments and some decorative items that are in my color scheme (black/white/colbalt blue/ any greens and splashes of pink) it's been fun to thrift and find the "granny" things that tell a story.
