SIDE SWINGS LIKE A BOXER
Coaching the boxers @ Paramount Boxing Gym in Stockport how to perform Side Swings with correct technique.
This is where the rope swings to the side of the body, once on each side before opening your arms and jumping the rope.
The most important thing is to get the correct arm placements. I coach the boxers to perform each position 'Box' then 'Wrist' and then open their arms up and finish with a Toe Catch.
Drilling this builds confidence with and consistency with practising.
Then you can progress to jumping the rope and eventually jumping every time the rope clips the floor.
During this Masterclass we had Boxers will all mixed boxing and jump rope experience - It was good seeing them slowly improve their Side Swings as we progressed during the session and then moved onto Cross Overs.
