Well, yes. God has, over and over, chastised the Jewish people very harshly. Had you read your bible, you would know that He sends a prophet or prophets to warn Israel before He acts against them. God get pissed, absolutely furious, with Israel many times. At most times, it is because of worshipping the foreign gods of the people He instructed the Jews to slaughter in the first place. God said flat out he was sending the Assyrians the slaughter Israel, then the Babylonians, and then the Greeks and Romans. He said the survivors would return to Him out of desperation. That is what happened in the Holocaust. The Jews returned to Israel, where it was prophesied he would return them.

Thank you, Naftali. It's about time Israel had a proud, articulate emissary who unapologetically told the world that Israel will do what it must, and to hell with them if they don't like it. I just encourage you to not forget that Husain was correct--the Arabs living in the Land of Israel had no desire to see a Jewish State established alongside their own, and took measures over the next 20 years to wipe it out any way they could. They only began talking about "statehood" following 1967.

Ohhhhhh how GRACIOUS of the Palestinians to recognize Israel in the 1967 borders! I'm so touched by their generosity I'm getting al tear-eyed over here. A technical detail, however, trumping this courageous concession for peace is that the 1967 borders DO NOT EXIST, it's just the armistice lines from 1949 that some foreigner scrawled carelessly, arbitrarily on the map with a green pen (hence the term "Green Line") and legally speaking they are a concept void of any meaning. The final borders will be determined in direct negotiations with no preconditions, and if you don't like it you can follow the advice of the late Yasser Arafat and drink up the sea.

OnceUponAtimeInLeb UN is a corrupt office which rules by payola from Islamic countries. It invented Muslim Palestinians by deeming all who flocked to Palestine and stayed 2 years as Palestinians. There were no Muslim Palestinians for 2,000 years before Arafat stole this name from Jews.

Actually, waiting 2000 years and still returning shows how much more connected we are to the land-- it shows that even 2000 years of suffering and exile isn't enough to stop us from wanting to return. Yes, we are cultural, so what? I don't know if you know this, but Einstein strongly considered to be the first president of Israel. As for the Palestinians, you should do better research-that term was made up 150 or so years ago. Also, we aren't like the Nazis-we don't persecute other religions!

You're putting the cart before the horse. In the first place, Hamas starting rocketing Israel BEFORE the blockade started. Khaled Meshaal was questioned FOUR TIMES OVER by Christiana Amanpour about whether he would ever recognize Israel. Instead of just answering "no" , he dodged the question every time and just said "we would accept return" of pre-1967 territories but wouldn't answer when she pressed him about destroying Israel altogether.

By kidnapping and brutally killing 3 Israeli teenagers, then when Israel was rounding up suspects, by bombarding Israel with hundreds of rockets (!!). Just glosses over it, like Israel itself was the instigator or as if he didn't recognize, like Hamas, Israel's right to exist. He also overlooks the tons of humanitarian aid Israel has given to the Palestinians, living both in Israel and outside of it. In 2009 and 2010, for instance, amazing amounts of aid in the form of cattle, powdered milk, grain--the list goes on endlessly. And the life-saving operations Israeli doctors have performed on Palestinian people, and the humane visits by Israeli doctors to Palestinian villages to render free medical care...So what does he refer to by dialogue? Hamas doesn't negotiate; and even when they reach an agreement, they can't be trusted. So how can you negotiate with terrorists whose charter says "Destroy Israel"? How can you negotiate with Hamas who doesn't recognize the existence of the Jewish state? With Hamas, it's all or nothing; their way, or a war. So Mr. Husain, you need to talk to Hamas, not Israel. Stop berating Israel and get off their backs.

Israel has to rethink their entire strategy, going to war every few years and then expecting the terrorist murderers we're fighting to uphold a ceasefire is, in fact, ridiculous. I'm an Israeli and I definitely DON'T approve of Naftali's message. His opinions are of the radical right wing and it's too bad that he was the voice representing Israel in this international communication platform. His entire speech was empty and based on fear, while Ed Husain spoke with maturity and intelligence. The situation is complicated and there have been many victims on both sides, but MANY of us believe in 2 states and oppose our government's current actions.

Naftali repeated himself to much, he could have just asked Ed Husain "do you believe that if Israel will draw its forces - their will be no shooting from the Gaza strip tomorrow, or any othey day in the next days after tomorrow?..." - Ed would have serious problem to answer, because he doesn't like the fact that there is simply no problem with the Israeli attitude, since we want peace more than anything. on the other hand, Hamas - given the chance - would have wiped Israel today, not tomorrow.
