Already got one but... good plug! Those guys are great and driving distance for me. Just go pick up my stuff. :-)
I'm a high school small engine teacher. I bought a Crossfire for personal use and ended up bringing it in to my class to help with building student projects. I also run 3D printers, laser engravers, CNC lathes and mills. What machine and projects I'm working on varies from day to day so it can be hard to remember how setup each machine file every single time. When I want to cut on the Crossfire this is my go-to video. Thank you for making this video it saves me time and stress.

Here's a tip: you can actually set your Z axis to be the vertical axis. Click your user > Preferences > General > Default Modeling Orientation This is useful if you want to keep the model in the correct orientation. I use this for 3D printing all the time

Does fusion 360 come with these tables or do you need to buy the laptop and the program
@SpicerDesignsLLC
Жыл бұрын
Fusion 360 is totally separate from the table. That is just the software that Langmuir recommends. A laptop is ideal and the software is free for personal use but after a year you will lose some features unless you pay for the subscription.
I see a mistake. Well maybe as I am very new. "When generating toolpaths for the CrossFire PRO with THC, use NO lead out to avoid losing arc voltage at the end of a cut." You seem to have this with a lead out.
@SpicerDesignsLLC
Жыл бұрын
Ive never lost arc voltage from that but i will give it a try. It does draw a large arc on lead out which im not a fan of. Thanks for the tip

Thanks. I prefer making them from scratch. Ive noticed the trace tool create a ton of points. If i sub that file out to a fiber table, all the curved sections look choppy because its a bunch of tinny straight lines making up the curve. Could be the program i used. Any suggestions on a better software for that?
@codygray4781
9 ай бұрын
I've used vector magic with pretty good results. I think it also depends on the quality of the original image. I always use google and search for large images to get the best quality.@@SpicerDesignsLLC
Langmuir should just give you some good 2D LayoutSoftware, there is no 3D when working with plate steel. Why muddy the waters? There's no Router attachment for Langmuir. What you really need is some good vectorization software where you just feed the raster (raw) image into it and out comes the Vector file. No stupid overlays or tracing. After it's vectorized you could then scale it up or down.
@SpicerDesignsLLC

I use it regularly...it's a game changer if you have a press brake and plasma table. Basically start with flat piece of your bracket, extrude to sheet metal thickness then go to sheet metal tab and convert body to sheet metal object. Once you've done that you can click edges and create flanges. Then you can create flat pattern which will allow you to generate a DXF to export for the plasma cutter.

@@SpicerDesignsLLC probably out of my price range to get you to Maine
Great video and everything works until I get to the geometry of the cutting tool. Even after selecting what I want cut, the simulation show cutting just a big circle (outside of the parameters I cut). In your video, your contour selection changes from “select” to “chain” but mine won’t. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot and resolve?

Did you turn your sketch into a body? If you dont do that it will only select a contour one line at a time.

Did you happen to be using the free version of fusion 360 when you had this problem? I’m wondering if that is my case
hola. tengo un problema. Cuando va haciendo la trayectoria de corte, disminuye la velocidad al llegar a curvas y me genera problemas con el material por que lo quema demas. Como se podra solucionar para que siempre mantenga la misma velocidad?
It worked Kyle. Please message me. I got funding to build a new shop. Now I got to convince them to invest 10K on a Langmuir XP table…. Send me sun jobs of your bigger jobs. :)
What's the story behind the YEE YEE in there with you?

The langmuir is better set up for a windows setup. I use a macbook air and it works fine for me.
I am new and just got my Langmuir Crossfire Pro setup. I installed Fusion 360. When I open Fusion 360 it is blank and does not have the grid's on it? I have tried saving images and inserting them, but my images don't show up when I select canvas? I am struggling. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a menu bar at the bottom that has your grid settings. Sometime when you insert a canvas it will show up really small. Try zooming in. Then you can calibrate it to size like i show in the video. Try that first.
Stock offset mode. Not sure what this even means.
