CNC Machining - second side job - roughing off material | Hermle C400 | SolidCAM | ZeroClamp

Ғылым және технология

Just Machining - 02
In this episode of "just machining" you will the CNC machining of the second side from a part right after the raw part clamping. The part is screwed down to an aluminum baseplate by 4 x M5 screws. The baseplate itself is exchangeable with the ZeroClamp zero point clamping system.
The first roughing tool is an awesome beast and is only limited by the machines power :)
⚠️ Please do not mill / drill / cut aluminum dry! This is just for video reasons and will kill your tools and parts. ⚠️

    Nice! Would it be possible to edit in some still-shots of the different tools used for reference?

    I really appreciate your question!! Because for this video I did still shots of the tools (rotating at 20rpm) I just didn’t know where to show them, so that the audience won’t get bored. Where would you like to see them? All at the beginning? At the end? As a Picture in Picture during the tool change? I am really open for all conclusions to this. So anybody write me your ideas! Thank you!!!

    Awesome work guys! How do you fix/calibrate this part to mill the other side?

  • @BavariaCNC

    @BavariaCNC

    Thank you, Rafael! The part is having four M5 threads and I use those to screw the part down to a baseplate. The baseplate is hold by my zero point system. To calibrate it, I use several points on the other side to align it correct on the baseplate and there is an 10H7 where I will get my zero from.
