CNC Cutting Boards: Cutting Board Tips & Unique Juice Grooves with a CNC

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video I show how to add unique juice grooves and board shapes to cutting boards with a CNC. Also included are some tips for elevating cutting boards and a new food safe finishing option. There are several Vectric VCarve tutorials included. However, you can use the timestanps to skip around them if you don't need it.
This video was made possible by i2R (Imagination to Reality) CNC's. To take a closer look at my machine, the B.24, as well as their other machines and products, check out their website at www.i2rcnc.com

    Good vid. One issue I saw was the circle cutout where you said you’re using a compression bit but didn’t make your first pass at least deeper than the uncut portion. Usually on short flute this is .22 and others is .3

    If you want a duplicate of the profile cut out just use the offset tool and set it to .5 or whatever distance you want either inside or outside the selected vector

    @@SixEightWoodworks can’t wait! I am learning so much from your videos. I’m trying my hand now with cutting boards. 😀😀 Have you ever used Tung oil as a finish on boards?

  • @jtcmlt1

    @jtcmlt1

    @Farmer In The Dell although Tung oil is food safe and one of the few "drying oils," it comes from nuts that could bring allergic reactions on some people. Other than that, it is awesome.

    When you use the CA glue for filler , do you have to use the hardener or does it harden on its own ? Thanks

  • @SixEightWoodworks

    @SixEightWoodworks

    The accelerator just speeds up the process. It will eventually harden without it though.
