    I have gone quite a bit after the fact . They aren’t doing it anymore . Yearlings have longer tails. Etc

    @@RostClan220 thank you for your comment, as of September I understand that Anheuser-Busch / Budweiser Clydesdales will no longer amputate tail bones, thanks to PETA and other animal activists. This practice has been banned in many countries, in the USA some states made it illegal, hopefully all states now recognize the cruelty of it. Thanks again for your response, most people don't care. Are you vegan ?

    jjrad, do you know the reason for shortening the tails of draft horses? It was originally done to prevent the tail from getting entwined in the farm equipment they pulled, originally. That would be VERY unpleasant for the animal and could have resulted in a major wreck and/or injury to the horse and/or the driver/handler of the horse/team. Hope that enlightens you a bit.
