I've just replaced this old clutch with a Newfren clutch plate kit and a set of EBC springs. Happy with the result so far.

Their pies are good. They were all out of vanila slices but I've had them before. They are good but had better. Caramel slice and choc mint slice were really good. Back to bikes, I've been keen to pull the clutch out for ages, apart from springs it all looked pretty good. Maybe wrong oil has been used at some point. Feels much better now with the older one in there.

I'm a fitter and turner. I've replaced a few motorbike clutches. This was the 1st time on the V-Strom. I've put a new one in since this video.

Thanks. I didn't mind the original handlebars but I bent them in a fall. New ones are alloy ProTaper, ATV Raper bend. About the same height as the standard ones but straighter.

Is a symptom of worn clutch bogging under acceleration? I heard someone say that. I have a bogging under acceleration on my 09 650 v Strom but only when bike temp gets up there otherwise I thought it could be fuel related.

A worn clutch is more likely to slip under acceleration, revs would go up and speed would go down. Bogging under acceleration is more likely fuel related. I had a similar issue and replaced the fuel strainer which fixed it. It could also be the fuel pump or fuel regulator. I did a video on the strainer here kzread.info/dash/bejne/jJyKmtB-qsyxZps.html

Is that oil cooler stock on your model? My 2015 model doesn't have one.

Yes, it's stock. Only 1st Gen models had oil coolers for some reason.

Could you tell me more about your oil fill plug with the gauge on it?

It's an oil temp guage. I have an aftermarket dash on my bike that doesn't have a temp gauge so I fitted the oil temp guage. Here's a video I did on it kzread.info/dash/bejne/lGSXrLiRfsXgZdI.html

How many miles have you put in your bike before you changed the clutch kit?

How do you smell "clutch burning" on a wet - oil filled clutch basket?

Not sure, but I could smell something burning and I can't now. Clutch feels heaps better too.

On my 2009 650. On the center stand my back wheel spins almost instantly upon letting clutch lever out. But on ground i have over half lever before rpm even pull down. Im assuming that would be a clutch issue?

It takes very little for the wheel to spin when there's no load. You may need to adjust the clutch actuator and then the lever free play so the clutch starts engaging a little earlier.
