It's a great deal since you don't have to spends hundreds on game sets and such.

It's a little bit funny, and completely fitting, that a lot of people will learn how to play Hanafuda from a Nintendo Switch game -- after all, Hanafuda was the first game Nintendo ever made.

Hanafuda isn't a game, it's just Japanese playing cards. The game is Koi-Koi.

@@kruks Strictly speaking, 'Hanafuda' can refer to both the cards themselves ('flower cards', and all that) and the games one can play with those cards -- Hanafuda Koi-Koi isn't the only game that can be played, although it's probably the most well-known outside of Japan.

@@Waddley39 I'd wager a lot of people haven't, at least outside of Japan -- even though you can still buy Hanafuda decks from Nintendo, the printed instructions don't come with a translation, so you'll still need to find someplace else to learn how to play if you can't read kanji. (Pity they weren't printed in katakana -- _that_ I _can_ read.)

Not gonna lie, when he randomly said "Bowling!", that was the highlight of the Direct for me.

"Four-in-a-row" is an actual game name that describes games like Connect Four, so it's more like using a broader term because the more popular name is copyrighted. Same goes with Ludo being the broader term for Sorry!

@Adin arms is different Arms is a game that plays with the mechanics of extendable arms Also arms has an option to be played without motion controls. That's like saying they won't release ninjala, since we already have splatoon, they're pretty much the same but with completely different mechanics

Looking forward to getting this game, definitely the type you want downloaded and ready to go whenever.

I've been playing Club House games on my 3DS for many many years - very excited to see it come to the Switch!

CLUBHOUSE GAMES how I miss thee! I used to play it a lot on the DS during breaks, especially the bowling!

The even more baffling thing about this is that the name indicates this is actually a followup title (sequel?) to a forgotten DS game that came out over a decade ago. What a weird way to try and bring in the hyper-casual audience. You'd think they'd want to try and tie it to Wii Sports or Wii Play somehow given that those games have way more brand recognition.

I guess its worth considering that the Switch is more portable and accessible to co-op play now than the DS. I also think its a pretty neat way to have a bunch of traditional board and card games in one big package to play with family and/or friends.

I've been waiting for a followup to 42 all time classics since playing the first one, this was the most unexpected announcement and I lost it when I saw it, best announcement out of the whole direct for me, and while I get where you're coming from, they wouldn't want to label a game "wii..." in the same way they didn't name 1 2 switch "wii party 2: head 2 head" or something along those lines because it isn't on the wii.

I love this but it means there wont be any games like wii party or wii sport. I hope they will add more games maybe like word bomb and other classic games

My family is over the moon about club house games. We would always play the ds game on long car rides, and we would use the chat room to mess with eachother during our turns in pig or after king of the hill. Those are my fondest memories of childhood and seeing it's now on the switch I'm getting nostalgic all over again.
