CLOUDSTER R/C Assist F/F and Supercap F/F's

Ғылым және технология

Sunset Flying Session. Richie's Cleveland Cloudster had an engine transplant and gets a test flight. Mike puts up some supercap free flights just as the sun is going down. Beautiful air just as darkness falls!
Build the cute little red-and-white sunburst model from this video by following along with the build along video I posted a while back. I've gotten reports from viewers who have built them, and they have unanimously reported excellent flights, along with a couple of flyaways! Find the video series along with links to the components needed HERE:

Richie and I have been building and flying models since we were kids...although we didn't know each other then. The nostalgia factor is a big part of why we keep doing it! Thanks David for a great comment, much appreciated!

Nice flights Mike and Richie. After losing my first capacitor plane built to your design, I built another two, one for me and one for my son. I lost mine today - again my fault for not judging the slight breeze and it drifted exactly where I didn't want it to go.

Wow! Stu, We don't know if we should console or congratulate you! In either case, you have earned a hallowed spot in the pantheon of sonex413 builder/fliers! Although we've received reports of flyaways, you are the first to report a double!! Get some pix next time, will ya'? Mike and Richie

That was a beautiful evening u Guy's filmed nice sunset backdrop with the capastor plane making summ turn's, all nice n gentle.. No wind = perfect flyin. I luvv hittin my flyin field when its those same conditions.. Luvv Ritchie's Cloudster!!!! Beautiful plane.... Boy Mike u Hitt the nail on the head about those Thunder Tiger motor's..... Owned 1 and it was the only one ... Never got it dialed in??; never ran smooth?? Always rough and choppy?? Then one day my hobby shop ( the only hobby shop) stopped sellin parts and all TG motors.. So I sold it at a flea market😂👍...looking frwd to that carnavor build along Vidd👍👍👍👍..take care feller's.... Ray

Haha! So you had a Thunder Tiger too? LOL. Those were the Yugo of the model engine world. I remember old timers talking about old GHQ motors from the 1930's the same way in the magazines when I was a kid. They also had an unenviable reputation, and stories would occasionally surface about someone who claimed to have actually flown one. Glad you liked the vid Ray, Carnivore build show and tell is in editing, take care buddy.

Thanks! We've had a couple of nice still air evenings lately...they're the best. Any air movement at all and it's better to leave 'em in the car! Take care buddy, keep 'em flyin'!

Mike, the way you’re snatching those cap planes out of the air, you could easily catch for the Red Sox. You might even be good enough to catch for the Minnesota Twins. Fun vid!

As soon as I saw the engine on the first one I turned down the volume. Lol Good flight Richie! Now... I’m not gonna say you slowed down the video on that second one, but... ... ha ha ha Golden hour Magic, Boys! What’s all the clickity click each time something goes up? I’m mean... if it ain’t something that’s none of my business. Thanks guys!!!

"clickety clacking" is the micro switch on the zoom function...wish I had a real video camera. No video trickery...that plane really IS that slow....looks unreal up there in still air...fun and relaxing until you notice it's heading slowly for the woods! Richie says hi and thanks......Mike
