Cloud9 Have Ruined the Best Player's Career

This video is about Cloud9 and the situation around dropping yay, the best Valorant player in the world. They have already dropped him and Vanity, and picked up new players before they play in VCT Americas against Sentinels, LOUD, 100 Thieves and many more teams. Nobody wants the best Valorant player, but does that make C9 the worst org in Valorant Franchising? I don't think so!

They have messed up numerous times like this, for example they had LS on c9 as head coach, he was constructing a new roster and expanding new ideas and forms of drafting, then suddenly after 2-4 games of c9 performing very well, he gets cut with no communication hours before the decision had been finalized.

jokes aside, just because its called "tier 2" doesnt mean they're worse than most of "tier 1" teams. It's a new format and the better teams will slowly climb up to the franchise league and the worse will drop down. It's just matter of time. But implying that tier 2 is not that good as of right now, that's talking bullshit, just saying. Teams like M80 or TheGuard/G2 etc. would play extremely well in the franchise league in my opinion. I'm not even talking as a fan since i don't really care much about it. I've just seen many tier 2 matches and they all played very very well from a strategy and team-synergy standpoint. If you disagree i think you haven't seen the tier 2 at all... (i mean, please, look at teams like karmine corp, you cant say that the franchise league is THAT better of a league bro) TLDR: tier 2 is not that bad as people think just because its called "tier 2" and not "tier 1". And its not gonna be like a "radiant yay smurfing in bronze" type of thing trust me lol.

that's not how pro markets work, and definitely not in a situation like this. players desperate to find a new team at the eleventh hour don't just hold firm on top-5 highest international salary level if their priority is finding a team. the reality is this happened so late in the game to where 1) teams spent 2-3 months building synergy and don't want to destroy that days before their season starts 2) players like tenz/zekken, cryo, ardiis etc. are not the kind of players you just drop for yay before they've had a chance to perform and 3) the signing deadline already passed and there won't be any more signing windows for the 2023 season.

But orgs would definitely want to sign players and coaches that can help the org win. They will sit down and figure out what works for them and what doesn't. C9 is the only exception here that creates a superteam only to drop 2 players so quickly. We don't see such a drastic news from the other 29 franchised teams from around the world. Some other teams are definitely performing below expectations, yes, but we can assume they are still trying to figure things out to win, instead of having the mindset to piggyback off this franchising move for a year. The players themselves know if they dont perform well they will be dropped. This is a full time job for them, of course they will need salaries. Streaming can be considered a side hustle. However it's up to the orgs and the players themselves to prepare a realistic amount so both sides will help each other out. On the other hand, what will happen if teams don't win tournaments? If they are placed 12th out of 12th for a tournament? Do they get a decent amount of money enough for them to survive? That's going to be very very large sum of money that game companies have to offer for one single tournament. If not, how will they continue playing in the pro scene if they can't feed themselves?
@Blankkx

@@nerrvous1 im probably slightly half agreeing with this but i will disagree. E sports is like an actual sports. Like football. It must be founded corporations. The value of the players depends on its performance. If the players are getting salary by prize pools it would be bad. Since prize pools are not that much money. But like you said prize pools should be higher but thats also not good for the games. The corporations that running the games will bankrupt. Why? The increased prize pools will affect its own games team will decrease and will affect the game developments or the performance of the live events. (What will happen?) The corporations of the game itself will decrease the prize pools so that they could bring more events with better performance. Players that make money from streaming are also making alot of money but. Streaming platform such as Twitch are cutting down certain percentage. That's why "companies" started to ask the streamers to promote their shit for popularities of said companies while also giving the streamers certain amount of money based on their popularities. But pro players making only money from sponsorship, twitch cutdown payments and youtube revenue. By this: 1: The pro players just make their money by twitch but not playing tournaments. They just streams and published videos. 2: If said players quit then what will happened to the org (player org as you said) Will the org find a new player. 3: And this is why salary exist for org. if the players want to switch teams or quit it will be weird since by having org (players founded) would want to grab the high performance players. Thats why salary on players exists. Because the reasons on salary exists because it will keep the player on their org/teams.

honestly we will not see yay this season but he can work on his roles .rn pro teams are looking for duelist who can play jett and raze and Yay is already pretty good on jett and with his talent he can easily master raze and we can see him in the next season
the scariest thing that can happen is him becoming a soloq demon
Can you do one for sentinels?
I dont think the departure of the Halo and Apex team was bcs of finances, as there was a scandal in both games leading to other orgs also dropping their teams, most notably G2 in both and Liquid in Apex (who were a Top Team)
and now DSG has signed the goat
btw when watchparty
I'm guessing the move to sign Yay was a last ditch attempt to reel in some sponsors. They gambled the bag on the brightest name the scene had to offer. Unfortunately, the team as a whole flunked out of the lock in tournament -- a result which likely ruined the appeal to possible investors. Thus, a cascading effect happened. They bailed out on the Yay project and went full damage control with the goal to keep the org afloat.

You can clearly see that sponsors have left c9 like some major ones like microsoft and blockchain and other big sponsors, now they're left with 6
So were just gonna ignore almost a full decade of good decisions and great historic moments in esports like with league and the sneaky roster as a small example. Just because they had one bad moment? which wouldn't have been a bad moment had they won the tournament and they maintained their finances. It was a major shot they attempted imagine if it worked.
About c9 yay and vanity droped they were swaped by a college and tier 2 proplayer and still won against 100t which isn't too much
I am praying Yay plays in DSG and then proceeds to absolutely destroy everyone in VCT Masters (when they qualify)
I don't blame Cloud9 for the decisions they make 99% of the time. They do this to stay in Esports and it always works well. They only drop out of Esports that are collapsing and that they already succeeded in anyway such as the female Valorant team, Halo, PUBG, R6, Heroes of the Storm, etc. They're still doing a great job in Esports that matter the most and are financially stable and treat 99% of their players and staff well. People calling them the worst org in Esports just based on recent Valorant decisions when they are an OG Esports brand who have been there for 11+ years and known as one of the best orgs in Esports history (probably the best in NA history) and when every Esports org has done poor things at a few points in time are either new to the scene, literally only watch Valorant, or are speaking based on emotion right now. That being said, this is still terrible. What I have an issue with is them knowing this with the economy in Esports at the moment, with their financial situation, etc, but still signing a player such as yay anyway, then making that move soon afterward. Completely ruined his season and messed over his career in his prime right now. They did this too with LS. I understood why they did it with LS after everything that was revealed and it was the right move in the end for their team's success, outside of him helping them get Berserker which wouldn't have happened without him, but you should've done a lot of things first to see if it would be a good fit for him to join as a head coach and do those experiments first. If they did that prior to signing him then it literally would've avoided everything as they would've realized that before heading into the 2022 LCS season. They wasted LS's time, money, and passion for coaching now which showed lots of promise with his techniques that could land him on a South Korean roster.

I remember when people found out that c9 was the g2 replacement for franchising and people were shocked that it wasn't nrg. If we look at it now, it makes so much sense.
Chamber nerfed and they realized he isnt worth it.
i think the reason c9 white isnt a thing anymore is because they dont only play game changers & orgs who play tier 1/2 arent alowed anymore to have a „academy“ or a second roster (not including female teams who ONLY play GC) thats the reason CGN esports kicked theyre second roster aswell
im dumb but why cant yay just lower his own price and allow an org to accept him with lower payment if he cant find a team as a last resort?

That's not dumb Yay isn't even the best player anymore
Its so unfortunate for yay, I feel so bad like imagine being one of the best players in the world but you cant even play professionally for a period of time and you cant show your skill to the world.
I really thought they were gonna talk about Csgo😂😂😂
Zeka definitely deserved gamer of the year.
i still dont get how valorant and valorant players seem to win awards when they are not even close to being famous and filling up arena from csgo players
