To be fair he's only losing his mind because of jenova and sephiroth influence (ofc mako poisoning with Hojo behind it all) Him and Tifa was enough to manage to put it all back together. As long as he has Tifa, it's enough to keep him together. Cloud was still functioning during the Hometown incident and kicked a certain person butt.

@@Jon_from_LI Yeah, I think saying she wasn't a character in the original is hyperbole. She *was* a character, she just wasn't realized anywhere near as fully as in Remake. I think her few lines in the original FF7 were well used though.

​@@zeldaoot23Yeah, she had one line about messing up the bombs. And then during the plate fall, her final words were that it was her fault about the bombings. They kept those lines in the remake and expanded upon it. Which lead to the operation in Chapter 4.

Oh Cloud... I miss her too. So sad she died. :(

@@bensapop0 They don't make it clear if it's them, since Bigg comes out alive at the end of the remake and not to mention that Jessi's glove comes out and Tifa would also have to come out since she also died on the other line as she appears on the wanted poster. , while Jesse's, on the other line, comes out alive, since his sign appears as alive.

@@edkcorner4036 FF7 Rebirth reveals that there are multiple timelines (as indicated by Stamp the dog) Biggs is alive in the timeline where Zack survived the ambush. He is dead in the game's timeline.

Best girl..

Such a sad and beautiful moment. Cloud rebuffed Jessie's advances and often got annoyed with how forward she was. But now that she's gone he really misses her. This is one of the many scenes in Rebirth where the writing, music, and character expressions come together *perfectly* to create an emotional moment. The scenes in Rebirth remembering Jessie hit me harder than her actual death did in Remake.

I guess this means she isn't coming back then.

Cuuute! I came here first with Aerith and they both talked about her so missed this.

And again, more character development and emotion in 40 seconds of Rebirth than the entire original game. They done my boi justice here.

I miss her

It seems the background music changes if you are "in a date" with the other girls and it changes to their music themes. Tifa's reaction is so bittersweet as she remember how Jessie was: "cool and confident" and how she misses her and I love it. But this one is my favourite bcs the music when we see the portrait and Cloud's flashback are not the last time he saw her, are moments where she were just like Tifa described her. The music used here is so beautiful that even makes the pizza quote more sad. (does anyone know the exact name of that music? )

If they were going to change the story all over the place and keep Biggs alive they may as well have kept Jessie alive too. They could have been the crew for the buggy, sub, and highwind.

Not since "Who else will I have ice cream with" has a line made me cry this much.

We all miss her. Tifa miss her...Barrett miss her...my mom miss her...my dad miss her...my sister miss her...my uncle miss her...my aunties miss her...my cousin miss her...

I honestly think this is the best interaction with the portrait of Jessie Usually having another character to bounce dialogue off of is helpful for context. But the flashbacks with no dialogue worked so well And Cloud talking to her directly, damn... 🥲

Let's be honest, the only reason the devs killed her off is because they knew so many people would pair her and Cloud together instead of Tifa if given the chance.

Nah bro she died in the original FFVII, hers' and cloud's relationship was way more fleshed out in the remake than it was in the original. There was the chance of something of happening between them, and yes that would have interfered with the Tifa/Aerith romance thing, but first and foremost - Jesse died because she died in the original. I can only hope that you know who doesn't meet the same fate. I wouldn't be against that character's end being changed :)

The gang dead for story about sector 7. Jessie in original is not important character. Tifa is only one in story can give Cloud back memories. Also tifa and cloud is canon in 2nd CD, and AC too .they cant change canon event and story because some fan said she is cute and "best girl".

Cloud together with Jessie this will change hole time line and cloud never back to his self. may be Tifa will be selfish and keep her secrect about cloud's past and that begin bad ending. That why they shouldn't give not important character more spotlight in remake, we love them enough to want change story for them. look at Zack Fair boy, i love him bc he is true hero and he is what cloud become, that in OG, Square open his new story in Crisis Core and more contact with Aerith, then we want he keep alive, that make bad end, Avalanche all die, Nakaki too, and Yuffie will be killed because she trying to kill Rufus (or Zack will save her). I want Avalanche gang alive, but old way that make geat story about FFVII so no need to change or "what if".

I got this scene with Tifa. It was so sad to see Tifa and Cloud remembering her from Remake and hearing how close her and Tifa was....So happy they show respect and remembring them unlike the original that just dropped them

Even if she isn’t dead, it still means that what the characters are going through is genuine emotion driven by dramatic irony. Whether that fits with the rest of the game’s changes/story is another thing, but I doubt it’d be difficult.

@@william3791 In Advent Children, Aerith comes back as a Force Ghost and Sephiroth comes back as a something or other. In fact this entire game is a "Sephiroth came back... again" scenario. And in the first game the fact that Aerith saved everyone from the meteor after death as part of lifestream is also a thing and Sephiroth was killed by Cloud before the storyline even started. Advent Children should have not even taken place since Cloud went to the lifestream and beat Sephiroth at the end of FF7. So yeah, Nomura will bring back anyone he wants.
