Love this! Arket, Sezane, and Cos would be great next. Would also love to see a video on what to look for in elevated basics - definitely an area of my wardrobe that needs work

Arket has excellent tailored trousers, I've had several pairs of their wool/wool blend ones for years and theyre still in great shape. I needed a pair of linen pants lately and tried one from HM - it looked awful after only a few wears. So I tried a lyocell blend pair from Arket and the quality is incomparable. Their wool blazers are also beautiful but you have to be into their specific oversized style.
Love this series idea, please make these regularly! Sometimes I know a piece feels off but won’t know how to put it into words, and you always do it so well. Edit: would love to see sezane next, please help me buy less from them lol

So excited to do Sezane. I've got A LOT of opinions on them haha. Thank you for the suggestion
Cos, Arket, H&M, &OS etc are Scandinavian brands that are primarily targeting nordic population. I am tall with a rectangular figure and their cuts are fitting me just fine. The Spanish Mango, to the other hand, is fitting better a more hour glass-ish figure so I keep that in mind when browsing their website. Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪

Right! I noticed the same. Also Zara years ago had a shape totally made for small people so to say, now they changed a bit the sizing. Sezane I feel is also problematic for us tall and slender, as sizes only go up orizzontaly but not in length (ie, sleeves are not getting longer if I size up)… At the end the best compromise for me now is the HM premium collection.

That’s a great observation. I’m tall with a larger bottom and I find that I can’t wear any bottoms from Uniqlo
Camel trousers looked so good on you, better than the white, incredible cut
Your thoughtfulness for fashion and clothing really shows in all of your videos and this one is fantastic! Thank you for sharing your thought process that's so helpful! I love your low-key understated and playfully feminine approach to clothing that I feel genuinely inspired by. ❤ You're doing an exceptional job of communicating your ideas in an easily understandable video. :) Looking forward to the rest of the series!
Please do cos. I feel all their designs are for really tall skinny women. I drown in a lot of fashion where every model is 5’10”…

I think COS has some styles that work for shorter women too, like their basic tees or shorter dresses. But you need to be quite selective.
100% agree on the midi skirt and trench options - those two things from them are gorgeous staples in my wardrobe
Love your insights! Please continue with this series!
not even one minute into the video, and I'm just in awe with your visual storytelling, as per usual. such a great inspiration.
Such a helpful video! I often browse &OS but find that their pieces either don’t fit well within my wardrobe even if I like the design or the fit is really off on my petite self. But then every once in a while I find a real gem. I think you really hit the nail on the head on why certain pieces work and why some don’t and it’s something I hadn’t picked up on before but will definitely be mindful of from now on.
Love this concept, such a good idea! Cannot wait for new episodes, could you please do COS next? I love the clothes but it's such a tricky brand to shop from!
Great idea for a series! 🙌
Amazing tips as always Helen!
Such a useful video. I hope they take on board your observations. It would be really good to hear them on other brands
This was a great watch! I love & other stories but I enjoyed so much you roasting them very much :D Agree with everything!
your makeup looks amazing!!
Love this series, looking forward to more!
Loved this video, great idea!
Great video format! I would like to see Sezane, Cos and Arket next.
Love thisss! Impressed by how you word it so well why it feels off
Thank you for the video, you should do it more often. A video about how to style dresses would be great too! Also, maybe you won’t read this, but I need to thank. I’m short and I gained weight because of a medical condition two years ago. Since then, I haven’t been able to feel comfortable wearing anything or going out. Your videos, have been life changing for me. Now I have a closet that I love and I get excited when going outside and putting new outfits together. I used to be 90 pounds before and everything fitted perfectly. Now, even with my little belly, I feel confident again. Thank you so much!
Yes to literally everything you said. This video is giving me life.
love this new series, this is very helpful! :)

I'm so excited to share more in this series :)) Thank you
Really great video. You do an excellent job crossing over for all sizes. I am 5'7" and always find value in your videos
I recently went into &OS for the first time out of boredom, and found most items to be not all impressive/interesting, but then I stumbled across a cream denim jacket and a wool sweater that were just utter perfection. Definitetly will be going there again just for that!
I would love to see one for petite studio! Super excited for this series!
Helennnn, as someone who knits and sews, I'd love to see you upload more about that! :)
Great video Helen! Loved your insight. Some of my recs for future videos would be: Gap, Old Navy, Zara, Free People.
@lilithowl
Ай бұрын
Old Navy don't ship to Australia, so that one would be more tricky for her to review comprehensively.
Great video as always. What do you think about the & Other Stories handbags and shoes?
The floral midi skirt is so flattering and feminine, one of my favorite purchases recently 🥰
I agree with what you said! I bought a mini beige linen skirt to wear in florida for spring break and it’s sooo good! I also own their leather sock boot and it’s very elevated to wear in the fall/winter to work or date night. I thrifted a long woolen cream coat from them too - it is very thick but works well for cold minnesota winters! Needs to be 15 F or lower to wear it since it’s so thick. Thank you for the heads up on blazers and dresses- I have been looking at those categories from them and wasn’t impressed.
Excellent content idea! Please consider doing Sezane and Everlane; they are my favorite along with Hackwith Design House. Thanks!
You put into words why I rarely pull the trigger on AOS. Great video! I would love to see you feature EVERLANE, COS, and Sezane. ❤
I love the honesty. I'm very excited for this series! How about Aritzia?
This is a great idea!! More please 😊

So glad!! I'm so happy to make these as I always have so many thoughts when I leave a store. Now I get to rant about it here haha. Thank you for watching
Thank you for another awesome video Helen, I find your content so interesting and refreshing. Would love to see Everlane, COS and Sézane :)
Hi Helen, this was super helpful to watch since you can’t buy this brand in stores here in Japan. I just wish the Yen wasn’t as weak now… but I guess the pieces you showed at the end are worth investing in. I will definitely check out the cotton sweaters and cardigans!
I love this idea! Could you please provide more technical details about the garments (stitching, etc.) and what they say about quality and longevity? It would be helpful
Love this video idea! Every brand has its ups and downs, you really have to dig through their websites to find the right things. Also, I'm not sure if this is something you would look at, but could you (if/when possible) comment on the sustainability of a brand as well along with your clothing recommendations? Can't wait for more episodes!
Funnily enough, the proportions on that alpaca tee look like would probably suit specifically someone super petite than your average petites, like my 4'9" grandmother. I think if someone were to wear something like a Uniqlo heattech long-sleeve tee or some other type of thermal undershirt, then it could be a look. But other than those very specific ways of styling, it's definitely not an essential for most people's wardrobes.
@DailyHelenJ

I love the idea of layering it :) Could work that way!
Love these videos. Can you do a video on knitwear? How to find good knitwear and what brands/pieces you recommend. I've bought Uniqlo merino wool but I feel the quality has gone down in the past few years
☺️ Thank you
I have two dresses from &otherstories and I both love them. But they are both fitted at the top/waist and flare out. What I also love comparing to other brands is that both have more fabric, made out of a full circle skirt and they have two layers, nothing see through there.
Love the video! Sezane I would like to see next
Awesome series !! Please do Sezane Uniqlo & Cos next
Nice video, I agree with almost all the pieces. Make one with Ganni clothes :)
You look so pretty, what camera do you I like the quality ❤
Love your video's. I like the COS brand, good quality but very often oversized. I wonder how you would style those cloths . What wood you go for. Their good quality convinces me.
Really good series idea. I’d like to hear about Zara and Mango. 🙏
So accurate, filtering through the 98% can be so frustrating! Thanks for weighing in with your 2 cents. Everlane would be a helpful one as well as Sezane which I think everyone is going to mention 😂
@DailyHelenJ

Oh yes! I will definitely do Sezane. I'm SO keen on doing Everlane as about 5 years ago, my whole wardrobe was Everlane. Thank you for the suggestions :)

@@DailyHelenJ I'm looking forward to these so much 👀✨️
I totally agree with your observations. I actually just received the blue dress with the interesting shirt details But it was awful on me 😩 ... I was literally drowning in fabric. I'd recommend sizing down 1 or 2 sizes if you do decide to go for it.
it's a great video. I would love to know where your shoes are from. your shoe taste is AMAZING 😍
Where are the white pleated trousers you wear throughout the video from? 🙏
I would love to see you do COS, Sezane, maybe Zara/Mango?
Can you do Love Bonito?? I'd love to see your opinion on it!
@DailyHelenJ
Ай бұрын
I've never shopped from them but happy to look into it :)
I agree with everything you said. I'm not petite by any means (171 cm), and even I find most of their styles overwhelming. Too much ruffle, too voluminous or prints that are too bold. Always too much of something.
Can you review Free People, Kotn and Gorilla 1995 ? I'd love to hear your opinion on thought on some pieces from these reputable brands! ❤
I love your videos though I might not be the target audience as a fairly tall person lol everytime you note that an item is too long I’m like ooo! Maybe I should buy that!
The shapeless dresses will fit more body types off the rack ($ sales motivation) without being very flattering to any one woman
@mizzle8

This is a very good point
How about boden? I like some of the dresses, but want to know more.
Such a good idea. I no longer buy anything from Stories. It's too hard to look for anything and they charge so much for shipping and their prices are ridiculous. The toiletries they do are very good though. Love your stripey top, it's very cute.😁❤️
Sezane and Cos next please!
What I learn from shopping at &other stories is that if you are petite, this brand might not be for you. I am very petite and 5'1 and my body type need something with structure. Most item from this brand make me look drowned in fabric. I just implusely bought one baby doll dress and I kinda regret because it is hard to style😅 I would say that Ilike their style but they are for my eyes, not for my body. I am eyeing on one silk top/cami tho.
5:03 where is this dress from?
I would love to see next cos, arket or massimo dutti!
Cos please
You hit the nail on the head 😃 & Other Stories could be so much more if they sat a little more in the middle and focused on every day wear. I find their jeans sizing atrocious as well.
Arket!!! I find them really hit or miss
I know this brand is not exactly your vibe but xan please do zimmerman too?
❤
Right on the mark! It would also be very helpful to see where you get your elevated basics since I feel unable to break out of the rut of super basics. You've discussed different silhouettes and textures before but a focus on which brands carry great elevated basics would be amazing!
Omg. I kept seeing and other stories amongst the fashion influencers I follow, but each time I walked into their store the past 2 years, I just wasn't that impressed- very basic basics, or just too loud for my liking. Except for that occasional elevated basics that made sense. And I thought it was a me problem 😅
The camel trousers looked better on you than the off white ones a lot of the items you said you didn't like looked better than the ones you did like the I suppose it's what you feel comfortable in as you said in the video just because you don't like them doesn't mean it won't be amazing for someone else you're talking from your perspective only ❤
@DailyHelenJ
Ай бұрын
Definitely just my perspective :) With the trousers, I actually would love them with a tee or tank. My issue with big pants is what to do when it's coat or outerwear weather - so I tend to avoid having too many of these. On someone else (maybe taller) they would be just right.
Everlane!!!
Fabulous
Do Sezane
It wouldnt surprise me if H&M had a lot of extreme examples for this series
Mango!
I'd like to see H&M featured.
Sezane, please!!!!!!
Re dresses, I thought the purple dress with the high neck looked good on you.
Hi, interesting and thought provoking comments. However, clothes need complimentary footwear
Sezane and Boden, shoe brands too
@DailyHelenJ
Ай бұрын
Love the shoe brands idea! Lots of thoughts there too. Thank you for the ideas x
@littlelady7843

Yes, Boden. I like some of the dresses. But want to know more.
The knitwear has been so poor in my experience. The customer service is very good, however.
Your methodology should be listened but the brands😊
Ok, so all the video you are disappointed that they make clothes for taller people, thanks noted, I’m in 5.10 here 😂
Stripped top is out of stock…bummer!
