After Fred Couples moved on to the senior tour Phil was my man! I enjoyed watching him win the 2021 PGA, just wish Amy and kids had been with him.

Yeah Phil is the best wedge player ever. Sure he hits some bad shots sometimes, but he pulls off the improbable on a regular basis where everyone else normally bails out.

I'm exactly the same as Phil except for one thing. The talent...I'm a left handed golfer who got to five handicap at one point but in absolutely everything else I'm right handed other than golf and batting in cricket .. we had a fundraising/novelty day several years ago where one of the challenges was playing a hole the opposite hand .. Mine was the 4th hole which was 314 metres (about 330 yards) and I shot an easy bogey ..Used a five iron off the tee , 6 iron I think second shot which finished a short approach distance from the green , chipped to about 5 metres but missed the putt ..Useless with a wood though as I found out later ..With the irons I was probably one to two clubs less distance right handed but surprisingly straight ..

I think the dominant hand thing is why left hand low (for righties) works so well for some people

That's amazing to know about VJ - he was the ultimate range rat, that he probably figured it made him a better right-handed golfer if he could understand his left-handed swing better. Had the fortune of playing the group behind VJ in a pro-am, and he could absolutely kill the ball.

I'd even kill for Phil's right hand swing.

I am no where close to good but I was taught by a lefty so now my normal right handed self plays with left handed clubs.

I'm left handed but play right handed. And still chip/putt left handed due to dominant hand as Phil described.

I'm totally right handed but play the guitar left-handed. It seemed natural from the first day I picked a guitar up. To me it seems obvious that If you are right handed you should be able to make chord shapes and bend strings with more ease because that is your more dextrous and strong hand.....pity no one agrees with me !

@@gametimeflagfootball He's top 10 greatest players of all time and would have been higher if not for Tiger. Its even been said by Tiger and other greats that Phil was the most naturally gifted player they had ever seen, but that he never cared to try as hard to keep in shape and hone his game so he stayed at #2 to Tiger in favor of taking it easier and staying true to his personality.
