Many and probably lots of them had as much of a hatred fro seperatist scum as the clones and sure as hell werent so willing to be all nice and pacifist as jedis. in fact in the EU a lot of the things the empire will be infamous developed during the clone wars especially during the outer rim sieges be it forced labor(slavery), mass murders and brutal suppresion , remember the cis is basically a rebellion and grievous committed horrifying atrocities particularly against human worlds especially during operation durges lance a pusch into the core that was only topped by the battle of coruscant, a lot of these republic officers had an axe to grind with the cis and wanted revenge and werent that obedient to annoying hippie jedi thats why they push to strip more and more power from the jedi so that the officer core got more control

There was a lot of Republic officers that that became Imperial officers. The ones that were not „loyal“ to the empire and the emperor were executed. At least that’s what the book heir of the empire told which is legends Star Wars

@@Adri_sw Oh yeah I know, but comparing espically legends to canon, I would like to know how many followed & either agreed with destroying the Jedi & how many just followed orders until they found out the truth like Dodana who was in A New Hope, who is suggested in both canon & legends to be a Republic commander. Ozzel was a commander that was with Wolfe when he got his scar amongst the 104th. Tarkin of course we know was a fleet captain & GAR admiral. Captain Needa was the very ship captain that attacked the invisible hand while Anakin & Obiwan was saving the chancellor apprantly. Yularen of course became head of the ISB. Panaka while not an offical GAR officer, became the moff & governor for Naboo which is ironic. Thrawn worked with the GAR & Anakin a few times in canon. Admiral Screed was supposedly a GAR commander. Gallius Rax was temporarily with the GAR in the beginning of the war. The point being many of the Impeerial officers in the Empire were part of the GAR one way or another & encounter or knew of the Sith, the Jedi & very few, the whole plot of Order 66, so it makes one wonder many of their standpoints when they fought against the Jedi later down the line as the Empire & became the threat the Separatist were practically were at the time & was totally cool with it.

This scene always confused me. Are the citizens saying "Long live the Republic?" It's sounds like the voice of the Officer, but it can't be, because this is the Empire timeline, and the Republic doesn't occupy homeworlds. But then in an earlier scene, Andor's mom calls the separatists aboard that downed shuttle "Republic", which makes it sound like they are separatists. I like Andor, but sometimes the lore gets confusing.

Since unless you were with Jedi you often were seen as nothing but a disposable soldier and a number. Which means individualism and personally were almost none existent.

So in this scene clones didn't free people from separatist occupation, they brought the occupation.

The attention to detail in this scene is amazing when a realistic perspective is considered. First of all, it's a flashback of a person's pretty traumatic memory of a civilian population's massacre by a military force, and no they didnt show it happen in the typical way like how the Mandalorian did with the camera in slow-mo, blasters blazing, people screaming, etc. What we instead have in Andor is a methodical build up to how such tragedies could have and would have happened in real life. Plenty of atrocities committed on civillians were due to soldiers reacting too impusively, be it a protesting mob or a large group of people straight up harrassing them. A historical case very similar, and most likely an inspiration to the scene depicted in Andor was the Boston massacre, where a mob of colonial Americans were fired on by British troops after they were harrassed by said colonial Americans...

Their about-face tells you which ones were paying attention during drill.

He is what the Clones look like between the age gap between Boba aka Daniel Logan & Commander Cody aka Morrison. @@spartandk7660 That's only in legends during the Kamino rebellion and they decide to forgo using clones anymore (But still kept the ones serving and gave them good retirements). In the Dinsey version they just sort of get rid of clone troopers for no reason and blow up Kamino.

It was covered in the clone wars (briefly) that due to the demands of the war, more and more clones were sent into battle before their training was complete. My guess is, that the shorter individuals in clone armour are just younger clones that hadn't reached full maturity before being deployed.

Literally the first fight we ever see them (A New Hope) they body a rebel unit despite being held at a choke point in a ship. They only lose two soldiers and literally decimate the entire defense force that had a strategic advantage

Now THAT was satisfying. Their commanding Officer had their backs. Nobody throws a rock at his men and gets to get away with it. Also, I'm assuming "79's" is a reference to A New Hope's initial; release year?

This was 1 year after the end of clone wars, when Cass was 13 they hanged his father clem and cassian was sent to prison (he tried to attack the clones with baton) for 3 years until he was 16, then empire sent him to Mimban, he was there until he deserted. Idk they just used diego luna face for this flashback.

⁠@@aGiraffePretendingToBeaMan the one I found odd was the bit where cassian is a kid and finds the crashed “republic” ship, whose crew members all have an emblem very similar to the CIS one on their uniforms. I got the impression that was supposed to be a separatist ship but they changed it to a republic one too late for the uniforms to be changed. But then it could also maybe be some secret Palpatine shit, idk. It was a little confusing but the flashbacks definitely still achieved what they were supposed to, and these scenes with the clones on ferrix were very well executed imo.

@@Lilrob06 TK Troopers don't wear Clone Armor. It would be illogical to assume these aren't Clones because of a height difference that extends to the Kenobi, Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka series when they show live action Clone Troopers.

@@oldwolffe3636 unlikely, in Legends, the uprising happened 5 years after ROTS, meaning the youngest clones are 14 years old (28 physically) by the time of ANH. It is also explicitly mentioned that some of them started from Geonosis all the way to Hoth. While Filoni's Canon seems to make every clone trooper go into retirement for some reason 1 year after ROTS.

To be fair to Filoni, that decision was made by Lucasfilms well before even Rebels was launched. His stuff merely is enforcing and elaborating upon the company policy. Does that make it right? Not really, but it does demonstrate he is just a tool to corporate shitbags.

0:34. These clone actors really sucked. They don't even stand the same. And are not the same height. They should have at least rehearsed there movements to be identical.

Would you rather they be cgi? Those turns require weeks worth of practice and discipline and identical movements or exact heights isn't practical. You'd have to find a squad of men with similar heights and builds with basic training experience and with exact movements that's intense sentinel guard training. Having fans that love star wars is better if you just subvert your disbelief in world of aliens and magic guys with laser swords

@@thedragon1363 CGI isn't the answer to everything. Look at Marvel right now. And rehearsing moves turns do take weeks, but you also have to understand the source material. They are playing CLONE troopers, Clones is the main word. There moves and height are meant to be identical. When these actors signed for it, they should deliver it well.
