I followed your directions and that was helpful diagnosing the problem. After taking off the green plastic piece, I could see with a flashlight that there was some black gunk obstructing the tube. I poured hot (not boiling! didn't want to crack anything) water down slowly and it cleared it out. I have the other model of this toilet too that has no clip. I had to remove the tank to access the underside and inspect the air transfer tube. Sure enough, cleaned out gunk and also cleaned the hole going into the bowl/trapway. That fixed the problem for me.

After several years of flawless operation, my Niagra started flushing slowly and burping after as it filled. The problem turned out to be something I have not seen diagnosed previously on the web. The Niagra has an internal air tube that creates additional vacuum during flush. That tube has to be clear for the toilet to work right. In my case, when the tank was removed, the port where the air tube connects to the bowl was totally clogged which I determined by attempting to put water through the tube. It's a small tube and has a sharp bend in it. I was able to use a large snap tie to clear the tube out. Put the tank back on and all fixed.

I cleaned it off and amazing .a great flush happened. Not sure what the muck was toilet is just about 5, yrs old. Don't have this issue with the other one. But thank you. Thank you

The Niagara STEALTH™️ toilet uses what’s called a vacuum assist flush. And that big black piece you took out is a vacuum chamber that covers that rear pipe which draws air when the tank empties. And yes. Those Korky Beehive plungers are great!

Have you tried the dual flush .5/.95 gpf toilets of theirs? I haven't found any reviews. I've seen mix reviews for the 0.8 gpf toilet. But with the extra .15 gpf I was thinking that might be enough to make a difference.

Hello! I think this is my exact issue I’m having but the plastic covering doesn’t have an obvious clip on the side keeping it in place so I can’t plug this hole to plunge. Have you seen a model without that clip?

They work great and are efficient in newer construction with new codes. I have ran into problems when it's older plumbing or with not enough fall. They run on less than a gallon of water per flush

Does the glacier bay model have that clip to take out? Because I don't see it. Damn thing is brand new and wont flush. I'm pissed

  • @hawkington

Wow! Thanks for this, but it won't work with my Niagara stealth N2450T (Glacier Bay) due to a redesign which prevents the removal of the black plastic assembly from the tank. This has resulted in a toilet WHICH CANNOT BE UNCLOGGED with a plunger - only an auger (with ENORMOUS expense and difficulty). Nice going, Glacier Bay! :(

I tried this, and it still doesn't flush all the way. I have to hold the button down 7 seconds to get it to flush. Then, when I tried to get the green clip off one of the 3 green plastic things that stick up on the green cap broke off. Now what?

I have the same kind you have and also another model of these that he shows here. The kind you have you'll have to access from under the tank. Turn off water, drain tank (use bucket, sponge, towel), remove tank bolts, pull it off, then you can access it from underneath. Clean out the air transfer tube using some hot water and a long pipe-cleaning brush/cylindrical bristle brush. Also clean out the same hole going into the bowl/trapway.

It could be the fill valve, but also if their were any water repairs recently some dirt or a rock might have gotten into the line and is restricting the pressure.
