    Great video, I'm afraid to do this repair because of the airbag. You showed me everything I needed to know and I think I can do it now. It doesn't look that hard. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks

    Very thorough and informative. Almost the same exact process as the Scion xB I have. Airbag light is on, and cruse is out too. I bet this is the problem on the old Marquis as well!

    Very informative video. Thanks for taking the time to upload! I'm about to swap the clock spring on my '05 Grand Marquis. My airbag light is on and the car will randomly start honking on it's own sometimes. I hope that's all it is and I don't have to hunt down another wiring issue.

    No puller needed for steering wheel. Drip a little power steering fluid on he spindle to break the seal. Pull by hand. Works every time. And there is no risk of damaging the column threads.

    @@markchimmy ATF in our cars is the same as power steering fluid. I mention P.S. because it is easy to draw fluid from the reservoir. (When at the junkyard, I use a section of windshield washer tube.) WD40 might work but it is a solvent and a flammable spray that my junkyard prohibits. ATF works every time.

    the airbag can become a projectile, not a trajectory, so the trajectory is the path it will take. make sure you edit your videos b4 you post them, lot of people will call you out on stuff. so if you look over all your videos you can find things like that.

    Does you think this part can also cause the cluster to stop working? Im also dealing with that issue on my 06 among airbag code 19 and no comms at my obd2 port.

    No unfortunately the clock spring has nothing to do with the dash cluster. Cv's are known for cluster issues though.

    I have a 2010 crown Victoria and recently I was driving and tried to make a right turn but my steering wheel just spinned in circles and my tires never turned I ended up in the middle of the street and couldn’t make any turn my steering wheel just literally spins and spins what do you think it is ? also my horn went off in the process

    Ok so we had this issue in the past. There is a "U" pin that connects your steering wheel to the steering system shaft. I'd bet that either broke or came loose. One of the mechanics we had our CVPI at did work on the car and forgot to tighten that and the same exact thing happened. Driving down the road we tried to turn and nothing. The car went straight and we had to have it towed back to that shop to have him fix his mistake. That would be my guess. Hope this helps.

    Well the steering wheel/shaft have two flat sides where the steering wheel slides onto the shaft. Being that I knew the wheels were straight and the column locked when removing the steering wheel, as long as I slid it back on situated how I took it off it would be good.

  • @412psekustomzllc7

    @412psekustomzllc7

    Ok, so you may need to check a few more things. Most horn circuits are ground triggered meaning when you push on the horn it makes contact with the metal housing and completes the ground connection. You may need to check the wire that is screwed to the metal housing of your steering wheel to make sure it is making a good ground to the chassis. The other thing that could be wrong is you make have a break within the wiring that goes to actual horns under the hood. So I would trouble shoot those. If you need any more help or advise let us know. We will do our best to help where we can. "Be Safe out there!"

    Thanks. I have not traced the wires from the horn back. I will do that soon. the horn does work. I touched it with 12 volts. there is only one way to put the clock spring in and all of the wires looked good inside the steering wheel.

    The wiring harness that comes built into the clock spring must be routed under the steering column and plugged into the same plugs that the old clock spring was plugged into.

    Not everyone is perfect. I would suggest Karen that you troll social media correcting ever fault of a misused word. In my opinion that makes you look stupid. Unlike a mistake of using the wrong word. I think you have a bit too much free time on your hands Karen. I'd suggest a job or atleast a hobby. Keep in mind we don't make scripted video like so many on KZread. Our videos are done in one take and not scripted.
