CLO3D | Tips For Crotch Simulations

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

These tips work the same way in Marvelous Designer and Style3D. First two are very simple things so might not apply to more experienced designers, but the last one is more tricky and could be interesting to see.

You do have a keen eye for details and I love your explaining and solution. I must say, I do see tutorials too often, that might be good or even great at explaining the tools, but when it comes to understanding and knowledge about sewing and/or pattern making, the level of expertise ist often cringy

Thank you for the feedback. :) That's true, there are many great 3D Artists getting into fashion, but the garment-making knowledge is not there, because they never learn it. Just like when I got into 3D I had no idea what most of the terms mean. 😅 But it is fun to see how people who don't know traditional garment making find solutions to create what they want. There is a lot of space for new ideas and methods to be developed. 🤩

I also saw your video on making seam allowance, do you alway make these seam allowances on all your seams?

Not at all, only when I really need them or want to make close-up render.

It highly depends on the fabric and how tight fitted the garment is. If the seam doesn’t create the bump, you need to help it out with internal lines and changing fold angles of both sewing lines and the internal lines. It’s a lot of trial and error and same settings don’t work for every seam. 😅
