Clint Walker's Home Gym

A great interview as Clint shows off his home gym and also lets us see what great shape he is in. Clint has been an inspiration to countless men who wanted to work out and not be labeled as "sissies" for caring about their appearance back in the 60's. A big thank you to Jesse, aka htrrz, for sending me this video. I just love it when Clint fans send me stuff :) Thanks a million and enjoy.

This is the ultimate male physique without looking like an inflated balloon. He looks powerful, yet potentially nimble. Watching men like this, one gets a stronger impression of how modern bodybuilding has ruined our understanding of what a healthy, optimal man's body should look like.

Clint made two important key points. It's not about training to be a champion weightlifter it's about keeping in shape, and working out makes you feel better. Most people in the US today have no idea how much better they would feel if they followed Clint's advice. I have a simple gym not unlike Clint's in my home. The whole thing is worth probably around a grand. I use it every other day and have for over 30 years. I am 65 and still going strong. You can too.

I’ve got a friend who is stunningly gorgeous. I’m talking Hollywood gorgeous. She doesn’t like the attention. She’s very self-conscious about it. Her husband is a sweetheart. He’s a good looking guy but, not what you’d think she would go for. Obviously, he doesn’t like it when men stare at her or whatever. But, she makes him feel very secure. I’ve known them for 40 years and she’s still absolutely gorgeous. Their son looks a lot like his mother. He strikingly handsome but, he is also very self conscious about his looks. Clint told my dad he had been asked to try out for acting and asked my father to come with him but my dad didnt believe him. So he didnt go. Clint got a roll and my dad missed an opportunity to maybe be an actor. Clint called my dad "Stainless Steel because my dad was also a martial artist and he would punch these rotating roof vents and they would spin around like tops. Everytime I see Clint on TV it makes me wonder what it would have been like to have an actor father. Love Clint in Dirty Dozen. Favorite move with him in it. As much as I loved Errol Flynn's character in the movies, his personal life couldn't stand up to the stature of the roles he played. And so many were like him. But not with Mr. Clint Walker. His character in life matched his heroic roles. Very rare, and with a respectable modesty. This man has inspired many to strengthen their backbone to resist the pride that ruins.

@Joseph ayala Dr Harrison Pope, one of the leading experts on steroids & male body image, said that pre-80s, the only people who went to the gym were construction workers, labourers and law enforcement. Nowadays most people have active gym memberships. People like Clint Walker and Steve Reeves will always be my favourite. Not just because they were weightlifting in the age before steroids were available (thus showing what the natural body is capable of) but also because of their hard work and commitment in an age where strength training was nowhere near as popular as it is now. They didn't have access to all the tips and literature that is so widely available now. They had to go by what their own body was telling them.

I think Mr.Walker was a fav actor. And I really liked him his tv series,Cheyenne.I got. To meet him once when he came just south of Memphis,TN in Southaven Ms. For annual L film festival every may or June.He was going on a break and I was just wandering around hotel so I had a birthday card in my hand Andi said we'll this is great timing and I yelled at him 2 or 3 three times before he stopped finally he stopped. And introduced each other and have him the card and he thanked me,and I asked him if there was any way there was that I could get into acting business and he said not presently, but that he LL keep his eyes and ears perked so I gave him my phone number, but never heard back from him.Anyway that's my story about meet movie star Clint Walker.Good Bye have great day y'all.Thomas.

This guy was built better than today's movie star 'heroes' - and he was an early advocate of weight training back when sports coaches and doctor claimed that it would make you 'muscle-bound' and was 'bad for your heart'. He's also using a lot of training methods that he picked up from training at Vince Gironda's gym.

This gentleman made it to 90. Genetics aside, what surely helped him was that he focused on core health principles (conditioning, rest, diet, calm). Some live that long, but in poor health. Many others dont make it to that age because they exhaust their bodies (sometimes from too much exercise!).
