I lost my mom that very same year (2005) when I only 24yo. I remember how remarkable it was to see Eastwood's mom in the crowd and telling about it with much enthuthiasm to my own mother, who passed away a short while later

Both those movies also got 4 Oscars. Each film won Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actor (Gene Hackman for Unforgiven and Morgan Freeman for Million Dollar Baby). Unforgiven won Best Editing and Million Dollar Baby won Best Actress.

Um, because she's still alive and well, and sitting in the audience? At this point Clint was already an old man, he'd lived a hugely successful life, this was his second Oscar win and his mother was there to see him win it both times. A young person certainly needs the validation that comes from succeeding and having a parent acknowledge that... but Clint was 75 at this win. He'd been a worldwide mega-star for decades before that. His mother probably lives with him, so he sees her daily. Am I making my point clear?

Clint is the best director…period! Unlike many directors who shoot the same scenes over and over again until they’re satisfied, Clint shoots no more than 2 takes and he expects his actors know what they’re supposed to do and how they’re supposed to do it before they roll cameras. That’s why his movies get done so quickly.

He shot The Bridges of Madison County, 36 days before it was scheduled to wrap. Part of the speed is a no fuss easy directing manner and using the same crew, that know exactly what to do and what he wants

I love him so much. He’s smart, good-looking and talented like no one. I so want to meet him. Her mother should be so proud to have raised such an amazing song. He’s just a living legend. Long live Clint!

And, one of her friends asked him to say hi to them. So, he went and said hi. Okay, it's not the most interesting story ever. But, it is pretty cool that my mom met Eastwood.

Clint Eastwood is that stick with which I learnt to walk as a movie watcher. He has given me great moments as an actor, a director and a complete human being. I have been a fan of very few public persona, Clint is one of them and one of only three actually alive.

I am glad he started off by thanking his wife and mother. What an amazing human being. Still rocking.
