Climbing Mt Fuji in 2010
Sorry about the wind noise! This was recorded on a cheap Sony Bloggie.
I started the climb on the busiest day of the year, which explains all the people.

At the Mt Fuji Post Office (which is already pretty high) is an army of vending machines.

If anyone doubts the year that this was filmed, the cargo pants should be a good give-away ;)

Hiked halfway in 2019, in September. Actually, 2 years ago today writing this. It was not as busy as this, but it was amazing. Cannot wait to go back. Plan to study abroad my sophomore year of college in Japan.
I just had hiked up my first mountain and when I got home I saw this was posted. Very cool video, love the old but good footage
Ahh I did this in 2014 - you captured so well the “Japanese traffic jam” while going up as well as packing into a can of sardines while sleeping at the last station to the top. I remember having a beer at that station while looking down over the clouds and seeing the sun set it was amazing. 10/10 would climb again although I was told only fools climb Mt Fuji twice. I’d go back for my foolish time!
Bucket list climb
he even remembered his second channel password! pog!
Such a wholesome and diverse channel!
Was there in 2014. One shot. Next time I would get the lodging though, however hard it may be. In height adaptation every hour counts, and you don't want 80 year olds overtaking you :-D

There's something about watching old videos, idk why, just so fascinating that all these people could have lived such an interesting life since then, some have died, so weird
This video quality is awesome

Imagine how much fun this would be if you went here with a mischievous friend group... bunch of joker guys having a good time fucking around on a mountain sounds like a blast
That looks like quite the trek
What an adventure! Thanks Alexi!

Climbed up fuji few years ago. Through the night too see the sunrise from the top. This was so amazing.
Aug 2010 I walked up Huangshan with my current partner, can't believe how time flies!

how did you randomly stumble across this video? Thats amazing
great adventure! you wouldnt think about it with all the people, but fujisan is up there.
All the major mountains of the world are photo-op sites now... Mt.Everest has a lineup to take summit photos as well. Crazy !
Cool video man, thanks for sharing that with us (:
The (not so) secret channel of awesome extra content!
Yet another super cool location I’ll only get to actually see via KZread
I climbed it in mid june the same year, No traffic jam for me. Did it in one day, but a long day. Start and finish in Kanagawa. Helped that I had only left the alps 2 weeks before , so no altitude problmes for me ;)
More comfy content like this.
Really nice video

i was in Japan in 2010, and had a glimp of Fuji-san. :)
There seems to be a vending machine everywhere in Japan 😃

2010?? Mt. Fuji had just formed a few years earlier.
Is this a missing Abroad in Japan video?

0:50 wait wait wait, you want to tell me you are not at Narita Airport and this ain’t the line in front of the JR office to get the Tourist Pass? I could have almost sworn 😂 guess my memory isn’t that great anymore.
@hillppari

I managed to skip JR office tourist pass line in narita airport by going straight to the ticket booth next to the tracks. They assign the tourist passes in every ticket booth so no need to go wait in the inside the terminal.

@@hillppari i Book my flights only to Haneda now after one time at Narita. Jumping into the Underground and getting the JR pass somewhere on the way to the Hotel/Airbnb felt way more convenient then being mostly dependent on the NEX. The Sukiyaki restaurant at Haneda is also one of my favourites, so this isn’t even a choice anymore😅
Perhaps the closest I'll be to the top of Fuji. 😅
Cool
alexi how long you've been in japan
