Climber's Gear Falls Out on Crux of Intense E9

Спорт

Anna Hazelnutt climbs Once Upon a Time in the Southwest E9 6c (5.13a/b R), a steep and crimpy slabby at Dyers Lookout.
This is Anna Hazelnutt's first lead of anything above 5.9 in standard...so a big undertaking.
The bottom half is a crimpy slab with little rests. The crux is a step left at half height, and the remaining top section steepens up. The holds get more positive but the previous 30-40m of the route start to take its toll.
Anna will be releasing a full video of the process of the climb on her channel. so head over to her channel, subscribe and don't miss out. You can find her here - / @annahazelnutt

The emotional release at the end is what’s really impressive. It tells you that the entire time she was climbing, she was exercising incredible self control to remain focused and disciplined. The music was also a perfect complement to the video.
