Climb Better, Climb Harder, Interview with Professional Climbing Coach Justen Sjong

Who wants to climb not just climb harder... but better? Justen Sjong has coached a who's who of American Climbing legends including Alex Honnold, Emily Harrington, and Daniel Woods. In this extended interview Justen lays out his framework for climbing performance. Justen is a legend of the sport in his own right, having freed The Salathe, and the first ascent of The Magic Mushroom on El Cap! Today he is one of the best and most sought after Climbing Coaches in America. I originally shot this interview for a piece I was doing for The North Face about training for climbing. When I shot this interview I remember thinking there was some good stuff in there for any climbing obsessed dork! Hope you find in a nugget in here that helps you to analyze and step up your own climbing game!

Having good forearm and finger strength affords one to experiment with technique...without it you're screwed.
