Yeah I mean, he's just fretting the notes within a particular key and making a sequence that results in a series of phrases that comprise a clear melodic motif while taking into account things like rhythm, harmony and dynamics. I'm a literal fetus and I can do that.

Yeah, this song is not easy, there's a reason why it's one of the most iconic guitar solos when we talk about the hard guitar solos. You did well for someone who "can't" play guitar.

If I arrogantly attempted Jaco's version of Donna Lee you would see the same result. Wouldn't warrant being called out for it, except the apparent hubris of an intermediate player choosing a song beyond his skill level to attempt to dunk on his critics. He should have tried Thunderstruck and we wouldn't have noticed any issues.
