These are old VHS recorded conversations. The point was to show different arguments, not necessarily to conclusion. Cliff's team made these edits back in the 90s, I highly doubt they have the uncut versions

In the beginning we loved God because we were commanded to. But now we love God without command because we love His goodness and are grateful for our life and salvation. God is perfectly good. They are coasting on the fumes of the Judeo-Christian heritage they reject, like an amputee still trying to scratch an itch on his long-gone big toe. That is the double-mindedness of soft atheism that hard atheists like Camus and Nietszche understood and rejected -- that you can talk, act, march, protest and become morally indignant as if there really is a transcendent moral code at the back of the universe that you expect everyone to know and observe. But when pressed to say what that code is, where it comes from and why anyone should take it seriously, you just retreat behind a smokescreen of evolutionary or socio-cultural relativism and gripes about exclusivity. My heart goes out to the first young man who to me, seems to be struggling with bigotry/racism. I can see he is very hurt. We have to remember that this type of injustice falls under the category of 'hatred of your fellow man', and we have all experienced it. No, I am not black, but I have been hated because I'm white. All of us have been hated. That will not leave this world. He said that it has to die, but it surely will not die this side of Heaven. Men are hated by women, women are hated by men. People are hated for their ethnicity, their religion, their weight, their facial features, their disabilities, for their money, for assaulting my child. When is it okay to hate? Wow. Could so much relate to what cliff was saying. I did a tik tok video recently demonstrating about the obvious facts how the evil we see and know in this world. Its so obvious like the rich have luxurious lives, yet in the poorest countries kids probably don't live much more than 5 or ten years old. They starve because of the greed of this world. The rich get richer the poorer get poor an this world does nothing about it an simply cannot solve the worlds problems. Its that simple. But when it comes to the answer of world problems, athiests just don't want to go there because without God they have no answer. As long as this world continues to give us all our wicked lustful desires and wants as long as this world continues to chase after all the pleasures and desire to get the most out of life, the poor will get poorer and will continue to die young. And evil will get worse. The bible is clear that the world will get worse. Lovers of money lovers of pleasure instead of God. A disbelief in God and Jesus and heaven is saying there is no hope. There is no end to evil. And like cliff said evil ultimately wins. I know there is a god there is a heaven which Jesus made it possible for all of us despite our evil deeds and can be forgiven if we repent and turn away from our wicked ways. There is a heaven a place where no child or baby will ever have to starve or suffer ever again. No sickness no pain no illness diseases or illness. Heaven will be eternity of happiness joy and pure love. Which is the opposite to this wicked world of so much hate violence unforgiveness, . Especially where the media controls and promotes and encourages violence, drugs and alcohol abuse to make it appear as cool and kids see it and take in everything. This world should encourages the younger generation to love and forgive everyone. Not hatred and teach them to defend themselves and fighting which is so encouraged onto the younger generation. No wonder there's more violence and people that go to jail. No wonder there's so much violence and fighting in the streets. One day this will all end. Evil will not last forever. I truly believe Jesus is the answer to all our problems and to put an end to all evil. Jesus loves all of us and will forgive you if you turn to Him repent and ask for forgiveness. if there is a God, then with our free will we will be judged according to what we do with our free will. Obviously, as Cliffe puts it so well, if there is no God, then you can do what you want. Just don’t get caught by the law.. or in Hitler’s case, don’t get surrounded by righteous and God-fearing soldiers/countries fighting for innocent humans created in the image of God. If there is No God there is No Judgement Day. We just die and that’s it. Life is an accident. The start of the universe is an accident, the present, past, and future of the universe is an accident. you make a decent point that if there is no God, there is no judgment day, but that should not and does not affect the way i live my life. I do not believe in God, but that does not mean I can do whatever I want in life, I was raised to realise there are rules in life which allow us to live happy and fruitful lives, and that people who break those rules ( eg: steal), will be caught and punished, it works pretty well in practice. I also have no desire to hurt others, it's much more beneficial to get along with my neighbor than to steal from him. We are social creatures. It's in our best interest to cooperate rather than fight. You don't need a God to tell you that. 🙂

:) Hello so I wanted to share the gospel of Jesus Christ so look Romans 6:23: The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord so when we sin it's like this a man gets a speeding ticket and goes to court to pay the ticket but say someone else pays it for him u see that someone is Jesus Christ and if it wasn't for him we'd have to pay witch = hell but god is willing to forgive U and so we receive our forgiveness when we acknowledge our sin, repent, and put our faith and trust in Jesus as our lord and savior if u have any questions let me know

@@justingary5322 The notion of God sacrificing Himself to save humans from God seems like the definition of insanity. Why would you injure yourself to save your children from you, unless you had self control issues.? Furthermore, why would anyone deserve punishment from a supposedly benevolent deity? It took me 25 years to realize the absolute absurdity of it all. Christians tell us we are all sinners because we inherited someone else's sin. This idea is inherently immoral. Additionally, we are taught that God was planning to punish us all, but opted to sacrifice Himself instead, creating a loophole for our salvation. Now, all we have to do is beg for forgiveness for a sin we inherited. With such convoluted thinking, it's a miracle we were able to invent even a mousetrap

@@JohnSpencer90You’re wrong firstly. It makes sense that there has to be a consequence. God knows this. And he died for us to save us from the wages of our sin. Does the judge send you to prison, or does your crime send you to prison. If the judge sent you to prison, then the judge is the cause of your consequence. Meaning that the judge is accountable for your prison time, and not yourself. And he was only following his own law when he died for us. The wages of sin is death, and only God can pardon those sins.

He knows the entire course of history before it happens, and he lives outside of time. This points to him already planning to sacrifice himself to save us from the consequences of our sins.

Hitler did not follow Jesus, he followed the god of this world - Satan. That is a huge difference. Nobody who actually follows the teaching of Jesus could be violent or evil in any other way.

@@nikokapanen82 I agree. The Jesus in the new testament is a moral Character. However, we cannot simply use Jesus in the new testament to sanitize the image of the genocidal God of the old testament. Christians, need to be consistent in their messaging. If Jesus is God, then you can't have it both ways. The God of the old testament is far more immoral than Hitler. If you disagree with that statement, then I am happy to hear your justification.

That is far worse than what Hitler did. How then can we blame Hitler if he was following the examples set by God? Please explain.

That's why the jews ultimately crucified him. so it's nonsense to claim that the Jesus in the new testament is a moral character and then at the same time claim the god of the old testament isn't. the God of the old testament was a God of justice who punished wickedness and protected his children. before we get all sad about the poor cananites, remember they had a god called Molech and they would sacrifice their babies by burning them alive. also, there's something called "war hyperbole" if you understand ancient writings. it doesn't discount the message of god's justice and care for his children by realizing that what was happening was essentially wars against God's people and those who wanted to destroy them. it was nothing like genocide in the same way as the holocaust was; that's a preposterous statement. But he stressed the importance of Love over everything else, and if you actually *read* the old testament fully and not just pick and choose certain parts, you'll see that the old testament God consistently says the same thing. Jesus told people to follow him and then he died on the cross as the ultimate sacrifice for the world.. atoning for our sin which we ALL have and deserve judgement for. then to top it off, he rose from the dead breaking the power of sin and death and setting free anyone who puts their faith in him. But I digress.. and by the way, the bloodiest book of the bible is actually in the New Testament. it's called Revelation.

The title of the video "it doesn't matter what we do if everything is relative" is not what any atheist I know actually thinks. You do not need a God to tell you what is right or wrong. We are clever enough as a species to come up with a basic list of things that we regard as good and bad for society. Over time, we work out what works best and we're able to adjust our moral thinking and change society for the better. eg: Only 50 odd years ago marital rape was legal in the US and UK, that is no longer the case. This was massively beneficial for married women.

We are clever enough as a society 😂 How is that working out for us? How long is it going to take for us to evolve to this utopian society? It sure seems like we are headed in the wrong direction. Forgive me for being cynical, my husband was just murdered 6 months ago. The murderer was granted bond but is not eligible for the death penalty. He murdered my neighbors also. He killed 3 people but “society” states that his life is valued over those 3 people. The state mandates that he has a certain standard of living. But me as a widow have lost everything. I have no faith (pun intended) in “society/people evolving to a perfectly moral society because of ego/narcissism.

@@pattydaulton4379 I'm truly sorry for your loss patty, my brothers ex girlfriend was also involved in an incident that resulted in her murdering her own 5 year old son. I've never said that we're going to evolve into a perfectly moral utopian society. There has never been a time in history when these horrible things didn't happen. Would you say it's fair that if the man who killed your husband truly humbles himself to God and asks Jesus to forgive him, then according to Christian beliefs, he will go to heaven? Also, according to Christian beliefs, aren't you supposed to forgive him? .. to me, that is entirely up to you if you chose not to.. i would find it vey difficult to forgive someone who had taken the life of my partner. My point was that, as a society, despite what you may think, we do get better, i gave you a single example of marital rape being made illegal, that is moral progress is it not?, i can give you lots more examples of how our morals have improved over time, .. is it perfect?, not by a long way, there will always be crime and violence unfortunately. There will always be a few bad apples in the barrel. Again, i am truly sorry for your loss.

I love answering questions like this. if there is a God, then with our free will we will be judged according to what we do with our free will. Obviously, as Cliff puts it so well, if there is no God, then you can do what you want. Just don’t get caught by the law.. or in Hitler’s case, don’t get surrounded by righteous and God-fearing soldiers/countries fighting for innocent humans created in the image of God. If there is No God there is No Judgement Day. We just die and that’s it. Life is an accident. The start of the universe is an accident, the present, past, and future of the universe is an accident. My birth and death also an accident..
