I have this on a 45 rpm record and have played it and played it. Beautiful song as you said. Also the Norrie Paramor version is nice as well which I also have on a record.

It is one of the great disappointments of my life that I and millions of other Americans were deprived of the talents of Sir Cliff in the 60's. His rendition of "A Summer Place" theme is truly exceptional. And, "The Event" ... wow. Thanks Mrs. Peet. And, thank you, Sir Cliff, for all the music.

My Mom's favorite song too. We had it played at her funeral. Every time I hear it, I think of my Mom when she was young. Beautiful song.

Fabulous..!!....Takes me right back to the incredible 60s....years living in Singapore....times lost and gone forever....!!!....Incidentally...Cliff came to Singapore to do a Concert in 1966.....and was REFUSED PERMISSION to perform...because the Singapore Government said..his HAIR was TOO LONG....!!!!......YES REALLY..!!!!....Back then there were signs in shops saying.....Men with Long Hair will be served LAST..!!!..

Hi Deepti Lovely way to describe the song and the singer. Never seen like the way u describe this. I love Andy Williams also. Kind of surprised that ur young and like these old melodies. U have to in USA to like these old melodies. Perry como is also sweet. Best wishes USA.

I wish I could be in that summer place with Cliff, just to listen to his voice and look at that sweet face he's always had. Cliff Richard will always be loved by all of us who know his music and that pure love in his voice when he sings to us.

I have never heard this before and I cannot imagine how I missed it so thank you for adding to musical education. It is absolutely gorgeous.

I am almost 70 years old now, just a teenager then!!! I sang Cliffs songs in my stage shows, and played Hank on guitar, all the wrong notes in the right places, and I featured them on my radio show. I am a retired Vet. The Royal Navy UK, and a retired cop, The Met. Police, London. Badly hurt during an arrest, lost so much blood, I had to retire.

He is the idol of my brother back in the Cebu City Philippines in the 60 s…..

Cliff Richard is still one of my favorite singers. He is also a Christian and has sung at some of the Billy Grahme crusades. He is also quite handsome. I just love his voice though. Debbie

Not to familiar with him. Before my time, and a Chicago girl. I heard a few songs over the years, he did have a nice voice. Glad to know he did not let show business ruin him, and stuck to his faith.

Yes, I have often thought it sad that his dad pass away before Cliffs carreer really got started. I know that he would have been so proud of his son. I'm glad that his mom got to see so much of what Cliff has accomplised. What a very wonderful son they raised!!!

I know that this theme music titled "A summer place" is extremely enchanting. I guess that Sir Cliff Richard also loved this marvelous song very strongly. So, practically his singing is awfully nice. Incidentally, the hero and hiroine were Troy Donahue and Sandra Dee. Of course, this movie "A summer place" became ultra big hit in Japan at around 1960. And we are told that about ten million Japanese young ones had watched that movie.

If a man sings this to me as a way of him courting me or dances me to this song, I don't know... I'll be damn happy.

An amazing guy.I was one of his security team in Aus on 4 ocassions in the early 80's. I even sung a breif duet with him after collecting him from his room. High class baby, was the song.What a tallent ,and what a great bloke.
