I'm 75 yo and Elvis has always been my main man, my 'goat'.....but one Saturday afternoon in 1958 armed with my 13th birthday present Record Token I was off to the Record Shop in Govan, Glasgow to buy Jailhouse Rock, Elvis's latest...when I opened the door there was this amazing record being played over the shop's speakers...blew me away, specially as it was full volume..."Who's that?" I asked..."Oh some new guy" he says, " wait a minute....Cliff Richards he's called."....took us a while to drop the 's'......It's still a brilliant record...up there with the best of American RnR....and the fact that it was written on the bus when Cliff and the then Drifters were on their way to the studio to record it is just brilliant, added to the fact that it's a brilliantly defiant defence of RnR....Hail! Hail1 RnR!...This version is just terrific...great RocknRoll!

I love watching live footage of Hank playing, he always looks like he’s having a ball!

One of the nicest human beings alive on this planet. I just love Sir Cliff Richard, his singing is so magnetic that the entire audience is just drawn to him. I had the great honour & pleasure of meeting him at the Jacob Studios down Mill Street in London in 1995 when he was recording the song 'Had to be' from the Heathcliff production. I was on a Commonwealth Scholarship from the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation. Sir Cliff was & still is my all time favourite singer. I used to feature him on every single one of my programmes and had a one hour special programme on the 14th of October, his birthday. May God Almighty continue to bless him in every imaginable way. Sir Cliff you are truly the VERY BEST.

I use to play this Record on our front doorstep in 1963 12inch of coures Goldenhill Stoke on trent this vesion is absulutly great thanks for the revival

I personally try not to compare bands - I either like them or don’t .. because their style or message . There was a time when I didn’t know what love means .. now because of the Presence of God in my life - I have also realized I have a choice.

What a mesmerising voice Cliff has! Whatever he sings sounds great. A gifted singer indeed.

This song is epic and will never grow old. Always a treat to see Hank Marvin on stage with Sir Cliff, and of course the lovely Pete May on drums. And 3 familiar backing vocalists (Peter Howarth, Mick Wilson and Pete Lincoln) who now have their own band - Frontm3n!

No one can compete with cliff, he's always been the most talented singer of all time.Saw his live show in brighton and I loved it. He is great for his age, carry on cliff.🎸🎶😍👏

I have always been a loyal fan of Sir Cliff Richard since the 70's when I was a teen.

Brilliant The song that proved, Rock and Roll was more that just American music, it kicked open the door worldwide ... It's still as exciting as when I first heard it... "they say it's going to die, but honey let's face it.... They just don't know, What's going to replace it"..... What a Brilliant line it says it all ........

@@erepsekahs Hank always looks happy when he plays as if he still hasn't got over the idea people actually want to hear him play. I saw a shadows documentary recently and he really came over as a wonderful down to earth guy, incredible given the success he has enjoyed.

I remember as a child around the time Espresso Bongo (1959) was popular, my two aunts went gaga over Cliff Richards. Hank Marvin is a legend player! What careers these two gents have had, this performance has 36 yrs of history preceding it, my viewing of this is 25 years since the performance aired. To have 61 years of staying power remaining at the top of their game with so many different generations still craving their performances.

Hank didn't play on Cliff's original 1958 version, as he hadn't joined Cliff at that point. The lead guitar on Cliff's original 1958 recording was by session guitarist Ernie Shears.

You do know that Hank Marvin never played on Cliff's 1958 version of 'Move It'? The lead guitar on that occasion was played by session guitarist Ernie Shears. As to it being the greatest rock n roll song ever, don't talk such bloody nonsense!

Hi John - I agree that today we only seem to get over produced screech or mournful dirge please have a look at me and my 60s band The Presidents performing a song we recorded for Decca in 1965 which we were told was lost but in 2018 I got an email from Los Angeles saying it had been found and released that June. He is 1 year and 1 day older than me.Not a fan of his .But the shadows instrumental stuff is legend.i learnt to.play Apache around 1961 .Took me weeks ( no video lessons back then )
