It’s crazy to me how long it’s been since I’ve heard this song- the radio stations that play songs from the 80s never play this one. It’s just been lost in time to me. So when it suddenly popped into the background of an old movie I’m watching I just had this … almost …out of body experience that put me back in the 6th grade. I remembered eating a bag of homemade Chex mix leftover from a Christmas party my parents held, I could see around my room and feel the dark frozen winter outside my window…and I’m unbelievably emotional all of the sudden because of it. I almost feel like I just had past life therapy regression or something. That was insane.

I sometimes feel as if I'm the only one who remembers the early 80's. Music is time travel for me. I hear this song and i am immediately transported back to winter 1981 -- 4th grade. I walked to school then and I always stopped at Earl's Grill, right across from Arlington Elementary. I would watch these two guys shoot pool and hope they'd leave a few balls on the table for me to put away. Earl's Grill had this very active jukebox and it was constantly blaring songs of that time: Rapture by Blondie, Starting Over by John Lennon, Hit Me With Your Best Shot by Pat Benatar -- and this song, among others. If a song from this particular time comes on and my eyes close and I seem to disappear, don't worry. I'm just visiting a vivid moment in my life. I'll be back in about 4 minutes or so.

i was 13 in middle school, president Reagan had just been shot. My grams had died 6 months before. the boy i liked didn't like me... drama every where. i hated the town we lived in. mom and dad moved us from the farm and all of our animals and horses. (i understand why now but at 13..). i had no real friends. i spent a lot of time at the library and in my moms idea oh a way to make the move smoother, a holly hobby themed bedroom...i could never have had friends over anyway. i would have been teased instead of ostracized. holy smokes i was not happy.. where the hell did that come from. no it wasn't that bad looking now because i understand..but i didn't realize i was pissy about it. weird things like songs, trigger weirder things.

I was very young listening to this song whenever it popped up on the radio. Always loved the tune, but never knew who sang it and later in life the song would be in my head once in a great while. Then through the magic of KZread i Just clicked it because I respect Cliff Richard never knowing he sang this song. Great childhood memories of listening to it.

Thank you so much. This is one of my magic songs. The life thing associated with it that made it magic is long forgotten, but the magic is as strong as ever every single time I hear it today. I have to stop what I'm doing, thinking or saying, and just savour that feeling again, because it won't let me do anything else until it's done. I'm sure you've done this to a lot of other people, and I'm sure they're as greatful as I. Thank you Sir - you've touched lives.

Imagine, if you will, a journey into sight and sound...a journey to a far away place that now only exists in the minds of most people that grew up in the 70's and 80's...an amazing place where you turned on the radio and listened to the latest songs from local bands like Australian Crawl, Cold Chisel, The Angels, The Flowers/Ice House, The Radiators, The Sunny Boys, Divinyls and so many more. I don't have a time machine unfortunately, but music has the power to instantly take you back to a time (and usually a place) when you heard that song for the first time. This is one of my flashback songs (along with the Go-Go's Our Lips are Sealed).

I'm late sixties myself, that means born in the fifties, so the best years of music was the late 60's to the 80's. I guess from the Ronnettes to Duran Duran or thereabouts. Thirty years of very good tunes and bands. I even got to Woodstock at 13 in 69. Only lived 15 miles away at that time. Woodstock was wild and crazy and rather wet, but the music was great!
