Clearwater fishing | Catch & Cook in the Cabin
Ойын-сауық
Join Graeme for some ultra clearwater fishing where I catch some fish and head back to cook them at the cabin. Graeme heads off to Sussex in an effort to locate some fish in really clear spring fed water. He goes to Chalk Springs Fishery, but his turn up time is not exactly dawn! He doesn't start fishing due to rain until about 1pm, after getting an interview with the fishery manager Callum so anglers will understand more how a Trout fishery works. There are some great underwater shots of the different trout species in the stock ponds, after which he heads out onto the lakes to see if he can salvage anything from the day. Finally he does a cookup in the Tackle Shack cabin back at the T.A. base...Mmmmm .....you can almost smell the cooking through the screen...Enjoy!

Both father and son uploading vids tonight, 3 vids for the price of none. Love it!! 😊
Great Watch and compliments to the chef..
Absolutely loving all the TA videos at the moment, loads of tips and general information also full of humour. You remind me of my old man, old school fisherman no messing straight to the point. Keep up the great work and of course tight lines 👍

Very much enjoy seeing the fishing in your country, the scenery, and the cook-up! :D looks so YUMMY! Interested to learn more about the "curry" you used to season the batter.
Yes please, another catch and cook.

As you could see from the underwater shots a lot of the trout are in fin-perfect condition ,possibly the best I have seen (outside of wild fish of course) Pleased you enjoyed it. Certainly it was only a thrown together few hours I decided on literally last week. Sometimes the random trips actually turn out well.

That water is very clear as you can see the fishes swimming all over the lake.
Graeme, Yours is indeed a Totally Awesome Fishing Show! I have been watching your program for a good while now, and always find them enjoyable, educational, interesting, inspiring, thought-provoking, and sometimes even hilarious as well. This one reminded me a bit of a TV show I watched in the 1960's where a couple of guys caught Trout at Shoshone Lake and cooked them beside the lake. They called it "Trout a' la Shoshone and the batter they used was simply pancake batter. They filleted and deboned the fish, coated the fish with the batter, then seared it for a bit, then coated it with more batter and finished cooking it. I never did try it myself, but it sounded tasty. Yours, however, sounds far, far better than that! Thanks for sharing with us this wonderful video!
Cool vid , osprey most love this fishery
Wonderful setting, thank you for sharing
Great video again Graeme thankyou .
Brilliant video thanks
Wow that's absolutely beautiful Graeme, beautiful lakes, of course England has some really beautiful country side or sides, and little villages, towns, etc! I would love to come over there and spend time going around to a lot of places and such, it's on the bucket list but I don't know if that will ever happen, that would take a lot of things coming together at one time, you know? Anyhow, yes sir absolutely beautiful country!

16:20 I agree. I love fishing under big trees. In the begining of June we went for a little trip with my class for 2 days. Near the boardinghouse, there was a little pond, filled with asp and trout. I chuck a floating piece of crust under a large willow tree. Managed to catch a 5 pound Asp. :)
Great video Chef
Just did some carpin yesterday and had a great time. Cheers Graeme.
Fantastic editing in this G Man

Great video. At 22:28 see the small mammal scampering to the right (opposite bank, roughly middle of the screen, to the left of the lakeside tree).
Excellent video, very informative and interesting. Get up early and go catch sunday dinner, trout farms are a great invention.

Every Wetherspoons I’ve been in had Abbott on draught and most of the supermarkets sell it in bottles or cans. Aldi do 4x500ml cans for £4.99 😊 Credit to Greene King, its still 5% ABV which is rare in these watered down beer days 🙄 Shame on those penny pinching brewers!!! Enjoy!

I did the Outer Banks years ago,Hatteras,offshore from Oregon Inlet was it ?...Caught some nice Speckled trout there in the surf at dawn. That was when I was writing and photographing for magazines,no video back then,which was a shame. I recall driving up to Delaware and doing some Bluefish on lures there. Certainly better fishing than our own shore sport.
25:00 an art!!
More catch and cook please! I'm sure you have already done a video of it before, but seeing the filleting process would have been good.
Hello Graham ! I just watched the bush craft build with Mike ! & he said go check out Dads Fishing channel. So here i am. Going by your video's that i have looked at , you love All types of fishing. I myself have never tried fly fishing .Looks like to much mucking around .lol I prefer the old egg beater reel, less chances of getting those bunch of grapes in your line. I found this video very informative on fly fishing & the tricks & fly use. It's been a long time since i have heard that term of the 'bolt hole " .My dad when he was a live used it often around his mates. I saw you on a video just last week about shark fishing with another fellow bring up this shark ,it had a strange name . Love to see High seas drifter back in the water Greame 😎
Refridgerant gel graeme that's what's inside them👍
As far as I know there's just salt water in those cooling blocks/packs. The salt lowers the freezing point and makes not expand to prevent it from cracking open plus it stays frozen longer.
Graeme. Thank you for another enjoyable video, it was so relaxing. 😀👍 I was wondering if there's any chance of you doing some salt water fly fishing? Or you may have some old video of you doing it. I only ask because I've seen it on TV years ago but nothing since, there's videos on KZread but they're not in this country. I'm not sure if it'll work in the UK. 🤔 P.s. Hello Mrs P. 👋😀
@TAFishing

Mrs P says Hi....Ref Saltwater fly,yes I have done lots of it before,Bonefish and Tarpon on fly,Tuna,even Blue sharks. My claim to fame would be a Mako shark I hooked on a flyrod while fishing for Blues off the Algarve in Portugal...It was,to say the least, a very one-sided affair. ..But that was before I started using video cameras. In the UK I guess it would be Bass,Mackerel,and with inshore shallow reefs,the Pollack. I will put in in the "ideas" file. Thanks for commenting.

Do you not find graeme it's best overcast whilst fishing for trout?

For general fly fishing probably yes,but if you want to spot a big one and target that one specificially you need the sunlight to give the best fish spotting conditions.

Fishermen use a weighted small bar called a "Priest".Whack on the head does it. You can buy one of these in your fly fishing tackle shop,or make one yourself from a 6-inch metal bar about an inch diameter.

Fishing inaccessible swims, I always dap for trout with artificials or naturals. Bit of a lost art.
You mentioned constantly that your fish are he ? How do you know its not a she ?
@TAFishing

Its probably neither. Most stillwater trout would be Triploids,usually where the eggs are heat shocked so they cannot reproduce, therefore they grow faster. That's my understanding of it anyway. Feel free to look up Triploids on the internet.
