You would be surprised how many people cannot correctly define the term “Normal” when it comes to relays . Many people seem to think that “ normal” is with the coil energized which we know not to be true. The term “ normal” can best be defined as “at-rest” or the state of the relay right out of the box . I’m sure many techs and engineers have brawled over this subject on numerous occasions. 👍😂.

I have also seen many instances of equipment schematics getting this wrong as well.

Common means the common path for current. In every example you showed it remains the same. It's a point a that no matter how you wire the device/ sensor/ or load, current has to pass through that point. Whether its on the input or the output.

When you are explaining the low/ high pressure sensor in relation to "common", you state that terminals 345 and 678 have nothing to do with other. But surely they do, they that common terminal that connects them.

Its your neutral for your low voltage.

Well, then hot L1 is also common in a 115 circuit 🤔

Whatever color the wire is that connects to the neutral bus at the breaker panel is common.

I love your try to explain the term common .But I think electrically is wrong in a step down transformer or stepup .wich one is the common wire in a relay or switch ? just because they share a connection is supposed to be call common .REALLY? What I understand is that in AC are two wires one call neutrol and the other hot by norma is the the hot wire that you connect to the switch relay or any device that you want to activate while the neutrol goes directly to the load.M I RIGHT? DOC
