Just a quick thought while watching the video. In homebrewing after the boiling has finished sometimes we do what is called a cold crash. This is simply trying to cool the boiling wort as fast as possible. This makes all sorts of substances (mostly proteins) to solidify and fall to the bottom and thus clearer beer is produced. One quick way to force all the solids to become sediment is to whirlpool the wort. All solids will spiral themselves to the bottom leaving clear wort on the top. The way to implement this technique to your design is to put you bottom feeding tube in a way to create vortex movement while filling the tank. Your design will stay as it is, assuming your filling tube is at the middle of the tank, with only one minor change. Instead of multiple outlet holes have only one with a pipe attached to it and a 90 angle at the end facing the x axis. This way the pressure of the "new" oil coming out of this pipe will create a mini vortex "pulling" all solids to the bottom. Hope this makes sense. Let me know your thoughts on it.

Hi Geoff Thanks for producing the website. Fantastic. Would you mind telling me where to get the funnel with the filter insert that you use? Thanks Sean

Hi Sean. Like so many things, eBay is the answer! I simply searched for 10 inch funnel and it worked a treat. Hope this helps. Geoff

My steel barrel has a heating element in it before going through two 5 micron filters to a pump. Is heating a good idea? I've heard a few people suggesting against it

Thanks Geoff really informative video, liked and subscribed. Just wondering, where do you obtain your WVO and do you get it for free? I'm considering running a car on veg oil for myself! Thanks.

Ah, Max... the big question... Well, not the large companies (they have systems in place) but any independent is worth a phone call. Restaurants, pubs, cafes, some chip shops (most don't use veg oil), golf clubs, garden centres, doughnut vans, etc, anywhere there's hot food. Quality and quantity varies. You CAN get it for free as some are happy to get rid. Others may want a couple of quid and that's where you need to negotiate. BEWARE those that do charge though. I once had a supplier that added water to the oil to double his quantity increase his payment from me... I soon dropped him. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice Geoff, I'll shop around. One more thing, I noticed your car has a conversion kit in place. Well the car i am looking at (Daihatsu Fourtrack) many have said can run on veg oil with no modifications. Is yours installed with a kit as it is a more modern engine?

@@vogman did some more reading on your website after watching your videos - they're really helpful! Did you consider a 90 series/Hilux with a 1kz-te instead of the D4-D motor?

There are barrels that are translucent, and you also have the smaller IBC containers.
