Cleaning Out The Invasive Yellow Bass At Fairmont - MN Ice Fishing

Ice fishing/cabin trip with the guys in my family. It was a fun one hanging out with everyone and getting on some fish. The two lakes we hit up were Sisseton and Budd Lake. The yellow bass in Fairmont are an invasive species, so keep all that you catch and catch as much as you can! They make for some good action and a good dinner too. Until next time.

I’ve never caught a YellowBass before! I’m looking to come up from South Dakota to Fairmont what’s the best lake to hit up if I’m wanting to chase after some yellowbass? Any help is appreciated !

Hall lake, Budd lake and Sisseton lake. We had the best success at Budd lake.

Use minnow head to catch one and then cut up a piece of their own meat as bait. Cut up bait worked best.

There was actually a tournament that weekend we went, we just didn't know about lol. But I'm sure tournaments would be good to get rid of those yellows.

What is the bag limit for yellow bass at Fairmont. Is it the same as mn regulation (10) fish

There is no limit on yellow bass at Fairmont. However, I've heard about DNR putting in a limit in next recent years.
