cleaning my gouache palette 🎨
It's about time for me to clean my gouache palette again!
As a lot of you have requested, I made this video to show the entire process of how I clean and maintain my gouache palette, along with the tools I use and a few useful tips.
I usually clean my gouache palette every 3 months to maintain the perfect condition of my palette, and also to avoid any moulding issues (yes gouache will develop mould over time) The entire process takes one to two hours, but it's totally worth the time because by the end I will have a perfectly fresh gouache palette in the best condition ready for my next creation ✧✦
I purchased the gouache palette, gouache refills, tools and spray from the official MIYA ART store on Taobao淘寶.

Realistically speaking you don't have to do any of this to most guache tubs. If they dry out or get a film on top you can just add water like a watercolor. It's more of a thing you can CHOOSE to do if you want to.

@dottydot808
2 жыл бұрын
it’s better to spray them with water when ur using them every once in a while bc they can dry in the process of painting, also the box isn’t fully air tight BUT right before you close the box spray it one more time with water and it will be a while till it dries again. ofc this is all unless you’re planning on using it every single day but it’s best to spray it every once in a while i’m getting mine today and i literally can’t stop watching videos😭

gouache is my absolute favorite medium. (esp on canvas') the performance of it is so versatile yet so loose. You have control over opacity in a way that you cant get in watercolor, but a thin-ness that is hard to achieve in acrylic. I love to see your appreciation for this gorgeous medium.

I have a smaller set of these, 36 colours, and whilst I love them and love the process of caring for them, I don't use them often or plan on buying more. I love the colours but hate that they're not lightfast. Makes me anxious. I should get back into using mine though, just for my sketchbooks. theyre still lovely paints after all.

That's not what OCD is... OCD has often nothing to do with cleaning, but with intrusive thoughts and compulsions. It's not quirky. The people that have it are often in intense mental distress and feel like they are going crazy. You probably didn't mean it in a bad way, but please educate yourself on the topic and don't make comments like these! They are harming people that actually have this disorder by continuing to push harmful stereotypes.
@Niksteee
2 жыл бұрын
@@sandihyperaktiv7460 I’m a clinical doctor myself with a master’s in public health. There’s absolutely no need for you to jump onto my comment and make it this serious. I just wrote it in a light hearted manner, and i Clearly know what an OCD is- as i have one related to washing hands myself. Please educate yourself regarding the same, OCD can exhibit in various different forms and it can be coped with. And, for your own sake, stop judging people based on their comments on the internet, you never know how knowledgable the person might be, until you actually meet them in real world.
@sandihyperaktiv7460

So you know about the whole problem with people saying "I'm so OCD, because I have to have stuff organized." when they don't really have it, but are trying to be quirky. Respectfully, your comment seemed like one of those too. I see how I may have jumped the gun with that one, but there is so many comments like that spreading false information about OCD and actively harming others, that I'd rather say something about it then not. As I said in my first comment I know, that it is a thing and that a lot of people have it, but there is also so many different other types, that are harmed by the stereotype of only cleaning. OCD is just not as much talked about and absolutely misrepresented. I'm sorry you have to deal with this type of OCD. I know from others how much it sucks and I hope you are getting help for it. It for sure helped me.
