This is what I did on my patio sliding door. People always turn to look and it was freaking me out. Definitely recommend!! Helps with pets looking outside to bark at people too haha

Idk if anyone mentioned it but I think centering the rug (as much as possible) under the bed as apposed to centering it in the room would make it’s feel more balanced because it’s creating a bed “zone” in the room defined by the rug as apposed to the rug trying to encompass the whole room by being centered (which it’s too small for).

tip for the candles if no one has said it: Melt the bottom of them a little with a lighter until its almost dripping and then stick them in the candlesticks, helps them stay there when they dry and harden up so you dont end up knocking them over and setting the house of fire lol

Have you considered adding a hook and mail catcher to the small wall in your dining room? It could really help make things look tidier. Love your videos and I'm looking forward to more fall and Halloween content.

I got one of those slim shoe cabinets that you mount on the wall, and honestly it’s been such a game changer for my tiny entryway. We put mail in a bin on top of it, and it fits 8-10 pairs of shoes! I see them all the time on FB marketplace.

the stack of mail on the nearest piece of furniture to the front door is the most relatable thing in this video (as someone who has unpacked boxes from LAST MAY in my apartment)

I know this video is a couple of weeks old now so it might not get seen but here's a couple of tips I've learned for simple changes to help a space. 1. Put a small tray or doormat in that gap where you keep the shoes, it will give it a "home" AND it tricks our brains into seeing one item (tray of shoes) instead of like 4 individual shoes. 2. Watch Cas from Clutterbug talk about paper organisation; a couple of magazine racks on the wall above the shoes are a great catch area for mail. 3. I agree with the comment saying to frost your window 4. There are cord tidy things you can get to stick to the back of toasters etc, you could stick a couple to the back of the TV to wind the cords up and out the way, there's also nice round cord channels you can stick to your wall and paint the same colour to make them "disappear" 5. Centre the rug under the bed, it will create a "sleeping zone" and leave a gap for the walkway to the bathroom and cupboard (watch Dear Modern for his 'energy paths' advice)

Sarah!!! Try using a catchall dish/decorative plate to put your mail in. That way it can still be functional, the mail is still by the door where you need it to be, but it looks purposeful and pretty because of the decorative container! That's my favorite way to add beauty to functional spaces lately. (P.s. I love you so much I've been watching you for years you're the reason I love horror movies

Love it!! An entryway idea is that you could get like a shoe/coatrack combo that way there's a place for the shoes and also your bags and coats in colder months. And for the window in the dining room looking out to the common area you could get one of those frosted contact paper sheets for privacy but still let the light in! Can't wait for the decor video!

And I also know the whole, "I need to get my shit together, this needs to be a home" feeling. It hit me hard a couple of years ago because it was all just so, bland. We had nothing fun or cozy. It's amazing the wonders a cozy home does for your mental health!

PS the bedroom rug looks great, just center the bed on the rug. It doesn't matter so much that the bed is off-center, if anything the way it was placed at the end is only accentuating that. Make it so both bedsides are even :)

If you tilt the blinds in that dining room window upward you could at Least get a little light without people being able to see in. We do that with a weird window we have too. Or put a sheer curtain there.

For cords, you can gel peel and stick channels that the cords go inside (kinda like a huge square straw?) You can paint it with the same paint you used on the wall, that way they blend in !

i love how this is coming along!! im inspired to work on getting my own crap together for a change maybe that will throw off the chaotic energy i am getting from my living space. also! ur diaper bag, idk how u feel about hangers but i really like using the removable sturdy hangers you can get at the store that dont damage the walls, maybe if you dont want to have the bag sitting you can hang it on the wall near the exit or where your shoe rack was? plus if you dont like it, its easy to remove. i already apologize for the unsolicited internet person advice im self aware and cringe afjkskdafds but fr the green color im LOVING for ur bag!!
