It's also possible that at one point she had tried to get on top of things and succeeded, but couldn't keep it up for the afore mentioned reasons. @@robbrien8506 Most people get help well before they start throwing their soiled diapers in a big pile on the bathroom floor so that the door can no longer be opened, and then move on to dumping them in the living room. It can't get this bad just because of physical disability or old age. You have to have severe mental problems, and be completely isolated with no visitors for months or years. Consider how little difference in effort it would be to throw the diapers in a garbage bag, rather than straight on the floor. If you can physically get up from your chair and walk to the bathroom, open the door, remove the pad and toss it, you are capable of throwing it in a bag also. There has to be something seriously mentally wrong with you in order to not do that.

  • @robbrien8506

    @robbrien8506

    @@OtnerNautThat's what I said. Main contributing factors- she was very likely severely mentally ill and physically ill (an elder who had surgery) in order to bring about such a condition in her house. BTW, even if you're physically able to put the soiled diapers in a temporary container (or even something as lightweight and simple as putting the dishes in the sink or in the cupboard), the mental effort to do so greatly diminishes as the illness takes hold and you reach the point of no return. (This is the genesis of most of these hoarder stories). Also, those containers of heavy, soiled diapers have to regularly be brought downstairs and dragged out in a garbage container outside for pickup or they'll start to really build up. That alone would become a physical impossibility for the ill person and another reason to abandon the effort and just start dumping them on the main level as well.

    That toilet needed to 100% be replaced. The base was cracked and it wasn't firmly mounted to the ground. Likely the wax seal is broken so it's going to leak and/or smell like sewage. My house isn't this level, but it's around a level 3/4 hoarder house. The amount of depression, pain, trauma reflected in my environment is insane. There were times I lived in pure filth and I did not even flinch. I just wanted to not exist, and my environment reflected that deeply. What hurts is, I'm a clean tidy person. No one would ever guess what my house hides. Now I'm mentally healing, I want a good environment, I want to clean daily, I enjoy looking after myself. So I've got professional help and we are gutting my house. These kinds of cleaners are angels in disguise. I cried in relief just getting to speak to someone who was so willing and able to help me, and who didn't judge me. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, and I feel like a human again. When you are at that level of depression, you don't care what goes on around you, you don't want to be here, you're essentially giving up in every area of living because you don't want to live. It's sad that people judge and they dont understand that this truly comes from deep pain, trauma, depression, chronic health issues, mental health, drug use, the list goes on. I was only ready to ask for help because now for the first time, I actually want to live. People don't realise how layered and deep it is.

But I have to wonder where the family was regarding this bathroom, which is such a blatant health hazard, and didn’t happen overnight. Or maybe there was no family? Pay for a cleaning person if you can afford it. The amount of stuff that disabled folks will just NOT TALK ABOUT due to embarrassment, including to their loved ones, is towering. I do affordable weekly cleanings for people who need help with keeping up for whatever reason and a lot of jobs start with getting some big mess taken care of. So many of my clients get shamed by their families when all they need is a weekly 1 or 2 hour "reset" to be fully functioning. Fighting and shaming don't get the job done, and honestly just keep these people from sharing their own gifts with the world. This man is doing what needs to be done so a person can live with dignity.

    Sir, I’m subscribed to your channel, and every time I see another video, I am overwhelmed by you, and I am humbled by you, kind sir. I am 76, disabled and very ill with many issues. I just recently found my husband of over 52+ years deceased in the upstairs of our home. I was in complete shock and will be in shock for a long long time. I clean my home using a walker, at least the best I can. However, if I had to use diapers (I am so thankful I don’t) I could NEVER let someone pick them up for me, I’d have to somehow do it myself…maybe set the bathroom on fire? Obviously I’m joking. However, I’ve seen you do it many times, with never an accusatory comment have you made. God Bless you and the work you do without ever judging the person for whom you are so kindly making their home livable. 😌☺️
