Cleaner Finds Dead Rat In Home! | Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners | Episode 25 | Filth

Ойын-сауық

The first volunteer cleaner is 35 year old former beauty queen Kelly from Middleborough, who suffers from an extreme case of OCD. She washes her sink up to five times a day in her battle against germs, despite not cooking or eating in her kitchen.
With a huge fear of catching diseases such as ebola, Kelly has a vigorous cleaning routine, which includes vacuuming the carpets, cushions, curtains, and even herself. Having unsuccessfully tried to control her condition in the past, Kelly hopes the experience will help her reduce the amount of cleaning she does and at the same time give someone a cleaner environment to live in.
Kelly will travel to Norfolk to help 66 year old retired chef Ken. He shares his 2 bedroom flat with his cat Tyson.
Since Ken’s wife died several years ago, cleaning hasn’t been top of his priorities. The living room smells of cat wee, and the floor is littered with fluff, while his kitchen is covered in grease and grime.
Kelly will try to restore some order in Ken’s flat and make him realise a clean life is a happy life.

I have noticed a common trait among peoples living in dirty houses, it's almost always some emotional grief and they're like frozen in that time of sorrow, pain and suffering so much that they had given up trying to change... deep down all the people, specially elderly ones I have seen are really nice people.

Wondering how everyone handled the pandemic? I started watching this to get to terms with the hoarders in my family. Both my mom and mother-in-law had trauma in their lives and both are hoarders. Both are in their late 60's and it is impacting their quality of life. Wish we had something like this in SA just to get them help. I have tried but think I am too close and the emotions are too much to deal with. We secretly go in and throw things away but when there are room and rooms you just can't win. Enertaining video. Feel for Kelly who acknowledges she has OCD. She reports that she doesn't have a cooker because of the mess it makes - choosing to eat out for meals or have meals at her parent's house. Ken was annoying who clearly didn't fully commit himself to wanting to clean his house. Needless to say it was apparent he appeared to have let things get on top of him over the years until the severity of the the chaos and mess was too overwhelming for him. Putting two people together from both ends of the spectrum is going to be intense due to their outlooks.

On a lot of these shows, its mentioned that someone has been diagnosed with OCD for some years, but it seems that they dont really accept thats a problem, dont seem willing to do much about it..a lot seem almost proud of it. I also think the curriculum in school for teaching biology needs to have entire section concentrating on bacteria, germs etc , becasue a lot of the obssessive cleaners have some really bizarre ideas that are so inaccurrate theyre just plain laughable!

  • @alison2984

It's because ocd is a mental illness and it isn't rational, doing a class on bacteria won't help them because in there head there not safe and need to be eradicated... good or bad bacteria doesn't matter its a mental illness making them afraid of germs and bacteria Also that's only one form of ocd you can have ocd about anything and everything it's not just about cleaning and germs

Kelly's home is making me absolutely cringe. You can color-code with taste and an eye for what goes with what. Also, this episode over again makes me worried about Hayley. She needs to get a brain check or something - burning your nose with bleach on the daily sure has done damage to more than her sense of smell.

The kitchen was trashed big time you couldn’t do anything in it so the company fitted a new kitchen I never use my oven it’s always clean. I use the hob but clean it every time I use it

I like my home clean and clutter free, with everything matching and cemeterial, but I wouldn't be able to afford to spend all that money on cleaning products. If you clean your home regularly, it wouldn't get in such a bad state. I can understand Kelly's cat phobia, because I'm allergic to cats.
