Very cool project. Quite happy to watch how it continues. Absolutely gob-smacked by power wash. I had a junk 80s Pioneer amp with a bad channel. After watching you, I pulled it out, found a loose transistor, resoldered it, and it now works. Cannot beat that.

I closed my eyes when you played that tune and saw my dad sitting on his eames chair, listening to jazz on his Marantz. Looking forward to your finished restoration.

Most of these vintage receivers I can remember seeing and listening to in the local Stereo shop. At 15 0r 16 I knew I would never take one home. Now one in good condition sells for more than new. If you have not looked at the Fisher vacuum tube receivers form a decade earlier, you might be surprised.

Some Loctite epoxy would work to attach that AM antenna. I just got a mostly working Tek 465B. Now I am starting my first partial recap job on a Sherwood S-7100A receiver that works but hums. Replacing all the power supply caps and coupling caps. Your channel has been very helpful. Thanks.

Awesome repairs! You bring hope to me in my efforts to get an old power amp to work. It's as filthy as your receiver used to be, lol!

Also a new turner cable is needed! Can you give ideals were to obtain this products and a vid on changing the string along with cleaning the balance would be great.

Great project from a horrific receiver to something that starts looking great again … and works! I noticed you mentioned is this video you have stereo output again. In you first video I believe the right channel was bad. What did you do to solve it?

Do you repair receivers for customers? I have a pioneer SX 737 with a blown channel and some buttons that are stuck. It still works but obviously not great.

Hello, thank you for all your comments and suggestions, I really appreciate it. I have a 2230B model, but the right channel in the speakers is not working, I have this unit since brand new in 1978, I have not cleaned the circuit board inside, volume knob sound scratchy but in general is in preety good shape. I am using my turntable, play my LP¨s mixing right and left inputs of the turntable through an external mixer and hear the music with the two channels (left and right) combined from the left channel of my amplifier, connecting two speakers (great sound). Can you suggest something to fix this problem? Thanks again. Best regards.

Since you have a line on a machine shop, have you thought about them making a new faceplate for this unit? I have an old Harman Kardon A402 with most of the letters rubbed off of the faceplate. I've been keeping an eye on ebay for the past six months for a replacement, but parts for that unit never show up there. Maybe someone can just make a new one? I don't know.

Also, I was able to name that tune on the radio that played for one second: Bette Davis Eyes by Kim Carnes. Do I win something? Like, an old broken transistor? Or a V12 Jaguar engine?

You can have the blown output transistors from the "don't blindly sub transistors" video since the V12 is pending sale. Lol

Test voicecoil continuity. If shot, replace whole tweeter. If you have continuity you should have some noise, not completely dead.

KZread does that, not the content creator. Used to be no adds for videos shorter than 10 minutes, but not anymore. Some have adds AND a sponsor with adds done by the content creator, now that is too far, then Patreon hawking too boot.
