Cleaned a yard and fixed a fence

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

G'day friends,
For this one, we checked in on a client at a familiar property. Despite her best efforts, my client was not able to maintain her yard again. If you recall our last visit to this property (link below), there was also a precarious fence, which has since become worse. This time round, I thought we should take a look at that too.
Thanks again for watching, as the client was not charged for this job! It was funded by KZread advertising revenue, Patreon and the Buy Me a Coffee app!

Maybe it has some cultural meaning in Australia, but what might be the meaning/purpose, if any, of the faded red rag / cloth hanging on the mailbox. It a gang sign that the lady belongs to? :)

It means that it's a drop-bear friendly property, and the trees may be home to some. This basically means enter at your own risk, as they can attack with lethality, and without warning

My in laws had a very old Ford tractor with all the attachments. Plow, post hole digger, rake, disc, bush hog, and he created a snow plow for the front. He loved that old Ford and was the only one in the family that could get it running. With 15 of 18 acres mowed it was a true gem. We sometimes had to wait months for parts for it. The house, pond and lake took up the rest of the property. He even created a weed eater for it since the lake bank was very steep. My husband lost his battle with cancer over ten years ago his mother passed in 2020 they decides to auction all of the Ford and it’s attachments as a group. Both our daughter and his older daughter was surprised that it brought in 25K. We later found out the guy that bought it was the one who purchased the property. I gave him my phone number and told him I knew all of the tricks my husband used to get it and keep it running. He did call me once last year. Ended up needing a fuel filter that was hard to see and ruff to get too. Does my heart good to see him keeping up with it and using it.

For never having put a fence up before, I think it looks very good. The only thing I would have done differently (including my thoughts on my neighbor's fence) is leave an inch or two open under the fencing to prevent it from getting wet and eventually rotting (even green-treated fencing will rot if left against the ground). I'm trying to get the dirt away from the fence when I'm working in my flower bed but after all the time it's been there, it's hard to do.

Fence looks good. Could see that military training where even after your shovel broke, you just figured out a way to keep digging. When trying to control the size of big bushes, like the one you, uh, deflowered, it can help to cut the larger branches down to the ground. Never more than a third of them. Pruning the outside to make them square not only deprives us of the blossoms, but encourages growth in the end of the branches, leaving the the bottom of the branches brown

I recognized that fence and yard immediately. It's a shame that organization didn't find someone to help her fix the fence. One thing for sure the front was more overgrown. Sean to the rescue as always. It's a good thing you and Claire are doing. Maybe soon she will feel comfortable enough to be in the videos and just not her voice.

I stumbled upon your channel yesterday, subscribed after watching your previous video about this place, you are absolutely fantastic person, not just because of selflessly helping those in need, but inspiring others to do something good in their communities.

Little trick with wooden palings. To stop rot on the bottom of the palings from ground contact, place one paling under the bottom to give you a ground clearance of 10mm. As you know, palings are usually 100mm wide and 10mm thick. Eliminates ground contact.
