Hi Josh. For all the tips I gotten from you I’ll pass along one for boat cleaning. Slimy Grimy. A powder that comes in a little tub. I use half a tub in a pump sprayer, add two gallons of hot water, pump it up and spray on. Before it dries rinse off with a hose. No scrubbing. If the boat is really stained from sitting all year on a mooring I might apply it again to those stubborn spots. The pump sprayer makes it easy to get the bottom of the boat while sitting on the trailer. Stuff works like magic. Toxic free, doesn’t stain the driveway or kill the grass. Use the other half of the tub next year. $30. I get it at my local marina.

I have the same boat. My Father-in-law had it before me for 20 years. He normally kept this boat sparkling clean- but it sorta fell to the side when my mother in law was sick with cancer and passed away (understandably). So I'm going through and giving it a good deep cleaning. Took it to the car wash today and gave it a good "surface clean", going to break out the toilet bowl cleaner this weekend and whiten it and the trailer up. Used simple green on the inside to clean up all the shoe prints, paw prings, worm/fish guts/slime/etc. How did the metal polish work on the gunwales of the boat? Mine has bare aluminum gunwales, and it's all scuffed up from the docks, grease, etc. I'll have to give these products a try!

It's a great boat! The polish worked but my metal is pretty toasty from salt water.

You can make your own by mixing oxalic acid with water.
