    Nice info! Things I do anyways, When my boat motor is fixed! So I got the lowdown on what is going on with it. New fuel pump! over $400. for the thing! A $23 other part. plus labor at $150. an hr!close to 1K this year! The thing is gone once it is fixed! Be a new motor that's for sure! Not even or about broke in! Not much else can go wrong with it now?? 2 years ago put a new brain in it and a bunch of other parts. can't remember now what they were over the 5 or 6 years we have had it! We don't go much and it needs to be run a lot more than we run it! I will stick with the older motors from now on!

    If you are jigging for lake trout you need a spot lock. I got it mine in September 2023. Now I regret i did not get the more advanced one that pulls out / in electronically. Pedal would have also been useful. Night and day again an anchor.

    I've been jigging around providence/stave island for a couple of days now and had no luck. I've got no sonar and only a small Jon boat with 5 HP mercury. It seems like jigging randomly in water that is 60-100 ft. isn't the best approach. Is it smarter to troll when I don't have a sonar or jig? Have you had any success with lake trout/salmon in the south hero area?

  • @BendItFishing
    @BendItFishing7 күн бұрын

    I haven't fished that area of the lake yet but I'm sure they are up there. My next video will help you a lot. If you are jigging blind your best bet is to find a hump and jig on it. Trolling is effective blind but you need to get down deep and know how deep you are.

    It's been many years since I ate a lakers. So an 18" inch fish and a 25-30 inch fish. Which is better to eat? The last laker I got was about 20 ish seems so, through the ice. Tasted very good, loved it! I would think that the bigger the fish you would have more of an oily fishy taste?? Great vid! I have started native brook trout fishing this spring, and I am really enjoying it. I live in Manchester, and I have been able to find quite a few spots within 30 minutes or so of my house, some being even closer. I was wondering if you had any spots in the Manchester area. If so, I would be very willing to privately trade spots with you. Any feedback is appreciated.

  • @BendItFishing
    @BendItFishing12 күн бұрын

    I only have spots in the white mts and don't fish for them in the Manchester area because the water gets to warm. I will give you a hint, Google search "NH electro shocking survey"

  • @mitchelldexter1901
    @mitchelldexter190111 күн бұрын

    @BendItFishing lol I know all about that trick. Found some maps showing the outcomes of those electrofishing surveys, but I was curious about how many trout they found at each survey and how big they are, so I asked fish and game and they were able to give me all of the nh government electrofishing records. Now I know every little detail of each survey, it helps a ton. And by the way, natives get just as big down in southern nh. I caught one in hooksett, nh, 10 minutes from my house in Manchester, that was probably 12-13 inches. As I stated, native, not stocked. I wish I could send a Pic but you can't through KZread. Thanks for the feedback!

  • @BendItFishing
    @BendItFishing11 күн бұрын

    That's big for a wild fish. Just watch those water temps. The white Mt area I fish is all spring water it's always cold

  • @mitchelldexter1901
    @mitchelldexter190111 күн бұрын

    @BendItFishing yeah. There is some very good trout fishing in southern nh. I went today and had one that I lost right at shore that was probably 8-10 inches. Looking at some of the survey information, within 30 minutes of Manchester, 3 streams they have found 60 plus brook trout in, and one stream they found 150 in last time they did a survey there. The third biggest brookie found in a river or stream during an electrofishing survey in NH (11.81 inches) was found 10 minutes from manchester. Multiple 10 inches plus have been found IN Manchester AND Concord. The biggest found in the Dead Diamond and Swift Diamond River during electrofishing surveys was only 8.5 inches. Keep in the dead and swift Diamond rivers are known for some of the best brook trout fishing in NH. Don't underestimate Southern nh, lol. But I'm sure they are easier to come by up north.
