    That's a nice little set up you have there. If you rough up the bottom of your feed tray a bit with some 200 grit sandpaper and adjust the water flow just right you will be able to catch most of your gold right there and just snufferer it up like you did with the one piece. Yep, it will work as a Miller Table as well. Just control the water to where the black sands just start moving on down.

  • @alanrobertson2510

    Thank you I think I will give that a try that was great to see the gold before it even went into the sluice Maybe I don't even need a miller table but it seems like it would be fun.

    My project is to use your top unit, for feeding concentrates , into the sluice box: dumping a whole bucket of constraints into the top feeder and using an adjustable fine trickle/drip of water to slowly wash the upper hopper into the sluice.

    Great idea! I wonder if you turned the red feeder box around so that it would drop further up the sluice and place a longer strip of ribbed mat under neath to have a longer first step at the beginning of your sluice?🤔

    @alanrobertson2510

    Thanks Rod That is a good idea I did turn the top tray into a mini miller table and I don't think I will be using the top tray anymore once I get it connected to the blue bowl and the nugget bucket my next project as soon as I make my leveler for the blue bowl.

    Nice job on the sluice. I see what you mean about working dry material, flows so much more smoothly off the spoon. Surely the drop and flap will put all the gold under the surface. I'm surprised at how little water flow you need to get the sluice working.

  • @alanrobertson2510

    @alanrobertson2510

    Thanks Macks I think it works better than I thought it would. using the garden hose sure cut down on the amount of water flow but it worked out fine.

    Like your inventions, would there be any benefit to having the hole in the mud tray on the end instead of the bottom. I'm thinking making the hole slightly above the bottom of the tray.

    I must have misunderstood you in the beginning because I thought you said you didn't want it to sit there and teaspoon your concentrates in I thought you said you're going to just dump them in and let it do its job... well you sat there with your teaspoon and teaspoon it all in.. so did I misunderstand you or what... My question is would it work if you just dumped it all in the bucket and let it do its job.. I would put a catch bucket at the bottom to see if any gold got out or not ... I love how you set it up that's for sure good idea... I do enjoy watching you use the knowledge that God gave you to have the know how to figure things out like you do what an awesome gift.... Be blessed my friend... BBE 👍 👍

    Sorry about that i can see how I confused you . I just wanted to have a even flow of black sand going in to the sluice. I do think you could just dump it in with some adjusting I will have to see how that works in the future. Take care and thanks for watching.
